Yep - same short-handled net I use in the canoe...just in case.

Sometimes, if the area is very weedy. I’d rather be safe than sorry.

No.

Except... I carry a tiny net for my tiny stream jungle-warfare trout fishing. Lose too many of the bouncy slippery little buggers on a short line in tight quarters. I'm going to let them go moments later but I do want to have a chance to marvel at their beauty!

Trout, treble hooks, and a float tube. Asking for trouble there.

I carry one sometimes when I bankfish rip rap for walleye and sauger...I don't take chances when dinner is on the line! Otherwise no.

I don’t, but there have been times when I wished that I had one.

I usually carry a collapsing net when bank fishing. The terrain can be ever changing and landing a fish can be awkward at best. Plus I believe in conservation, so it is safest for the fish by landing and releasing in the net.

Nope.  I've regretted it a few times, but mostly it's not worth the hassle.  Most of the bodies of water around me are thick with trees and brush, so I try to avoid carrying things that'll grab the limbs I'm climbing through.

Yes I carry a net when I fish from the shore and it has helped me land many large fish.

I don’t but if I can without any hassle why not? Where I fish I can step into water easily or on a dock with only 12” above water.
