DBinPA Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Was thinking about building a deck/platform on my '08 Lund WC 14. Basically it would be from the very tip of the bow back to the 2nd bench. It would sit roughly about 6" - 8" below the gunwhale. I would like to put a seat on a pedestal at the center point. Antbody have any experience with this, as far as safety and tipping issues?? Quote
M-Gunner Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 I did something similar to my 14ft V. Before I started the deck I made a support for the pedestal to make sure I wasn't going to tip over. 1st I got a 2x2 3/4 piece of plywood and cut it the width of the bench seat, next I attached two 2x4 to the plywood to make a brace. Attached the pedestal to the plywood. Placed this over the bench and took the boat out. No problem with tipping. Now I was ready to begin the deck. This was a few extra steps, but I didn't want to spend time and money and get out on the water and tip over. Hope this helps. Quote
