There are 999 kinds of braid and someone that will tell you each is the best since baked bread.

If you want quiet from the get-go, then you can eliminate Original Power Pro.

More options you can add to your list:  Daiwa Samurai and Fins 40G, Original PRT and Windtamer.

Last year I started throwing power pro super slick v2. This year I’ve switched all my reels over to it. Really like the onyx color, when it fades a bit it turns grey.

I use good old Power Pro.  Does anyone use Suffix Performance Braid?

I see a lot of answers in the Power Pro, Suffix 832, and Seaguar Smackdown categories.  I used to use Power Pro but the last few years I've been using Suffix 832.  Is Smack down that much better than 832?

40# Performance was the first braid I bought.  It loses its color fairly fast, but did not leave the color on my reel.  It was on a Gen1 STX that went to Florida every year with me for fishing in the slop.  A few hours of casting a 3/4 oz. spoon tied direct twisted the line so bad I had to throw it away.  Otherwise there is a good chance it would have still been on that reel.

I feel it is an excellent low cost alternative.  Quieter than Original Power Pro.

While Power Pro can be more noisy - I never had a problem with it , availability locally is good and to my knowledge it doesn't hurt rod guides ? I'm just a week end fisherman so PP has been fine in s variety of line sizes .
