Forgetting to install the plug will do it every time. Ask me how I know.

Whats worse than high wind.....is when the weathermen predict no wind, yet you get out there and its blowing 20.  Its one thing to go out expecting it to be windy, you can mentally prepare, but it really annoys me when I go out expecting little to no wind, and its blowing like a hurricane. haha.

Had that happen to me a couple years back.  Forecast called for 2 to 3 mph winds.  Arrived at (trolling motor only) lake and it's blowing as strong as I'd ever seen it.  I spent 2 hours at the ramp programming the blue tooth on my Pilot so it wasn't completely wasted time.

Arrived at the ramp (nearly 2 hour drive) to realize I'd forgotten to put 2 stroke oil in the gas tank I'd filled earlier (Fortunately, I was able to buy some from another boater who had a spare bottle).  Then, at the END of the same day, my pickup wouldn't start coming off the ramp because unbeknownst to me, a piece of carpet had slid between the clutch and the floor and wouldn't let the clutch travel far enough to allow the starter to crank.  Eventually I discovered the culprit but not much before I was going to blow a gasket.  At least I'd ultimately remembered the oil and the boat motor hadn't seized up and I hadn't called a tow truck to pull my truck and boat up the ramp.  THAT would have ruined the day.

What used to ruin a trip for me was too many other fishermen or other rude boaters. When my family still owned a lake house I used to go over on Friday evening, put the boat in and make sure it ran fine. I'd get up before the rooster crowed and get out to whatever spot I thought was going to be most productive. It got to the point I was usually the third boat into some of those places. Or I would have to take a weekday off to avoid crowds. Then I was down to plans B & C. That got old. I know people think it's cheating to fish private waters. But I didn't change to catch more and bigger fish. I changed to keep the hobby fun. It was becoming a lot of work for little reward.

Happened to me too once! I never thought fishing too much would cause tennis elbow. I wish it was cause of too many big fish. Instead it was just a whole consecutive week of fishing 8hrs a day that did it for me ?

People. I don't even like seeing them when I'm fishing.

Totally agree. I can't stand when I'm at a public reservoir at 6am and a few runners are there at 6:30 and act like I am in there way!

If I could.. I would...

If I went to Florida, family is coming with, and they aren’t letting me fish.

I was speaking more along the lines of shaving all my body hair or going to work in my underwear for a chance to get out on my home waters.  But hey, high of 42 next week- were getting there!!

Thunderstorms ruin my day and we get plenty of pop up ones in the south.

Wind doesn't really bother me when I fish from the bank, but I choose not to kayak in windy weather. I tried it once and got n about 1/20th of the casts I would have made fishing from the bank.

This year will be different for me as I'm now on a big lake as opposed to fishing lagoons and small lakes. I'm sure I'll have a bigger list of grievances by the end of the year.
