Super User Hammer 4 Posted January 29, 2021 Super User Posted January 29, 2021 Aside from trash, ect. The guy who walks up while shore fishing, asks if I caught anything, the proceeds to start casting 5 or 6 feet away from me. Knowing that I was fan casting, key word is WAS.........argh! 1 Quote

I've done this three times in the dozen or so years I've been kayak fishing. Only once was I alone, so I left my stuff there, and ran back to get it. The one time I was alone, I luckily picked a really good shore spot to launch from and had a pretty good day. 2 Quote
jgordon Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 Well being a Kayak guy wind kills me and in Kansas its non stop most days big gust. 2 Quote
Super User bulldog1935 Posted January 29, 2021 Super User Posted January 29, 2021 never had a bad fishing trip. Visits to the internet may vary. 2 2 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted January 29, 2021 Super User Posted January 29, 2021 Not catching much???♂️That and losing a big fish. Even that very rarely ruins the trip... Getting a crack in my boat from top to bottom while navigating Lake George in a tournament came pretty close... 1 Quote
schplurg Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Quote .....(post snipped for brevity)..... Gotta "grow the sport" though! Don't gotta do that at all! Anyone here feel like their waters aren't crowded enough and need more anglers? I had a day ruined (2 months actually) when my back went out. Bad spasms. I hit the dirt. Other than that I haven't had a ruined day yet. Litter sucks, often people suck. But never ruined my day. I hate wake boats and I wish my favorite lake would ban them, but I haven't had a problem with one while fishing yet, though I'm sure I will when I start getting off the banks more often. I have seen boats banging against docks after such a boat has passed by. Obnoxious. 1 Quote
Sphynx Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 No "normal events" ruin any day of fishing for me, I simply do not give anybody the required give a d**n to ruin a day, nor could any other "normal" condition do it, "a bad day of fishing is better than the best day of work" and all, in fact the only thing that has ever stopped me dead in my tracks from fishing on a day I wanted to is when whatever it is that's wrong with my back decides that feeling anything from my waist down isn't a necessary thing, that has a funny way of impeding my plans in an agitating way. 1 Quote

I was being completely sarcastic. “Growing the sport” is so the fishing business can be more prosperous. I don’t want to see more fishermen, more tournaments, and more fishing pressure. 1 Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted January 30, 2021 Super User Posted January 30, 2021 High winds when I am kayaking Losing multiple lures in one session while shore fishing Unleashed dogs that run up on me while shore fishing. I love dogs but they can stop your heart when you are in the woods and they come charging. Worse if they growl. When they start sniffing around my tackle bag I worry they are going to get a face full of hooks. 1 Quote
Super User Bird Posted January 30, 2021 Super User Posted January 30, 2021 Wind stands alone as my biggest nemesis when fishing. I'd rather watch whoopi Goldberg than fish in the wind. 1 2 Quote
Rpratt Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 The person you bring along that has his cell phone blowing up non-stop because his wife wants to know every 5 minutes when he is coming home, or he decides that 30 minutes on the lake is too long and needs to go home right now...... Yeah, I am sure most of you know THAT guy.... ? 2 2 Quote
Super User Darth-Baiter Posted January 30, 2021 Super User Posted January 30, 2021 To be clear. Waking up to a puddle under my refrigerator will ruin fishing plans as well. d**n. Quote

cheezyridr Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 i have to echo the trash thing. i HATE that. i also don't like days when i see lots of copperheads, or wasps. the thing i hate most though, is what stops me from going fishing entirely. stuff like: when a good friend calls me to help do stuff. i won't say no, because that's not being a good friend. but i sometimes wish i could. or when i have so much work to do around the house my conscience won't allow me to go fishing. 2 Quote

Yeah I understand that. Especially the part about work. I normally get told I have to work my entire weekend every time I have a trip planned. It almost never fails. 1 Quote

Luke Barnes Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 Snakes. When there are water moccasins swimming around i tend to high tail it out of there. As @jbsoonerfan said too, wind. Oklahoma is known for being windy and some days it's just too much. 2 Quote

My buddies and I were fishing a golf course pond, and had our tires bled by some golfers... ? The ruins a trip pretty quick. Quote
