Handy Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 I have been looking at getting a drift sock for my 2 man bass boat but got to thinking when I upgrade to a jon(hopefully 14ft) will I be able to use the same size on it too. Also the place I am going to get one the smallest is 36 inches, would that be too big for my 8 footer bass boat? Thanks. Paul Quote
DawsonH Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 5 gallon bucket. Should do it for that 8' boat. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted July 13, 2009 Super User Posted July 13, 2009 There is no "one size fits all" when it comes to drift control. Most of the time a five gallon bucket does the trick for my canoe. When it's really windy, I drift faster than I'd like and could use a second bucket or a drift sock that produces more drag than the bucket. You're dealing with two factors, the boat, and wind speed. The only changable factor in that equation is the drift anchor. Quote
