Sherlock 60 Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 The original Veritas rods were not true to their "power" rating (i.e. a Medium was actually more of a Medium Heavy). With the new all white Veritas rods a Medium seems to be a real Medium when I play with it at Cabela's. Anyone out there have any hands on fishing experience with them? Quote
Super User Spankey Posted January 24, 2021 Super User Posted January 24, 2021 I can only speak or give opinions on the Veritas Medium power, Moderate Action “Winch” rods. I’m more than satisfied with them. Only crankbait fishing with them. For this upcoming I’m gonna get the spinning version of the “Winch”. But I’m looking for softer tip rods. Quote
Kdizzle Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 I handled one at a local shop and they did feel a little untrue. Medium rods did feel a little bit too bulky and stiff to be called a medium. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 Who’s the arbiter of a “true “ rating is? That’s the problem, there’s no industry standards. Look at labeled power and lure weight range and factor in your own experience. Only hands on will tell the true story in the end. 2 Quote
Cigarguy Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 That's the thing about fishing rods and tackle. It's not like temperature, weight or measurements where universal standards are agreed upon. Action, power, stretch in a fishing line is all by "feel". Feel is so subjective. 1 Quote
