Yazman Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 As far as store credit when you open a credit card, I got $75 from my Cabela's card, $70 for my Scheel's card, $40 from my Academy card, only got the in-house card from Sportsman's Warehouse (no bonus), and got denied by Dick's (was $40 instant bonus, but too many inquiries on my credit report). Am I missing any? Gander has $10, but not worth the trouble to me. Bummer my wife's credit score is so bad, or I could double all these ? Quote

garroyo130 Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 If you file your taxes with H&R Block you can get your refund early. Technically its a "refund advance" so like a loan but hey who cares. YW. Too bad these guys are gone 1 Quote
Stasher1 Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I'm reasonably sure you're joking, but just in case... Credit cards are a necessary evil for things like plane tickets, hotel rooms, and rental cars. They're also useful if you find yourself broke down somewhere and need a tow. Beyond that, they're a tool of the devil. The less you need to finance in your life, the better off you'll be. As far as I'm concerned, if I can't afford to pay cash for what I want, I can't afford it. 2 Quote

In the last 4 years we’ve earned enough points to pay for 5 plane tickets and stay 7 days at a beach resort for free. Credit cards are your friend if you use them correctly. However 95% don’t 2 Quote
Yazman Posted January 23, 2021 Author Posted January 23, 2021 I wish I were kidding. I only use the sign-up bonus and then never use them again. I'm pretty sure I use shopping as a maladaptive coping mechanism to deal with an unfulfilling and difficult life, but I'll save that conversation for therapy ? I really probably should stop in all honesty, I was just hoping you all would enable me. And BTW, I got the $100 Amazon one twice. The Amazon one is the only one I use, just for points. I pay in full every 2 weeks. I have no debt and I like it that way! Quote
