I want a fishfinder I can move back and forth between my kayak and my BassBaby. Preference is a Garmin, perhaps their new Striker Vivid 4cv?

What is a mounting method that will make it easy to move the unit and transducer back and forth? I use the kayak most of the time, and ordinarily would use an in-hull ductseal method, but think I need some kind of arm that can be adjusted to fit both the 'yak and BassBaby with minimal fuss.

Thanks for any suggestions!

The yakattack battery box is made for type of portability. You can mount the finder and the transducer mount to the box. You likely have to make a track mount for the BB. I have setup on my kayak with the idea of possibly moving it around to other boats.

I use a Scotty 141 Transducer Mount with the 368 Universal Sounder Mount.  All I have to do is screw the transducer mount into the side rail track, and hook up the battery.  I even have a smaller battery in an ammo box that I will occasionally use, that doesn't even require me to disconnect the battery.  With that, all I have to do is unscrew the mount and unvelcro the box.

I had a hand steer  elec motor that wasnt any good . I gutted it and mounted an old Eagle Fish Mark on it .The transducer is at the bottom of the shaft . I can use it on canoes , jon boats , Bass Bay... anything the bracket will clamp to . Dont know if that would be an option on a kayak ..

Ram mount the the head unit, use a deployment arm for the TD, and don't get too fancy with the battery.  I have three small boats that I can switch to when needed.  In fact, it's so easy to set up, I don't leave my graph on the boat.

The dry bag with the battery is stuffed in the bow storage here.  Lately, I put it under the seat.

Double down on the Ram/Arm setup - that's what I have on my canoe. I have the Scotty mount for the transducer.
