Coffee - Whats your brand and how do you drink it?

Anything but Starbucks ,I work were they make it. Usually Maxwell house breakfast blend but out of Bass Pro cup

If I want a 'special coffee'...it's Caribou. Support a MN company rather than a WA company...keep it local.

Throughout my 37 years on this rock I can say I’ve never had more than a few sips of coffee.

I like mine black, hot, and a lot of it.  Folger's at work, but on a road trip it's Quick Trip.  I usually don't drink much coffee at home.

My brother sent my wife & I a Keurig brewing machine; I’m guessing about 8 yrs ago.

At first I thought it was pretty silly, but we have never looked back since.

 

I add milk, no sugar, and average 2 or 3 pods a day.

My wife's favorite is "Caribou", mine is "Peets" (little more body than Caribou).

If we run out of Peets, I'll brew a Caribou on 'strong',

which is almost indistinguishable from Peets.

Had my first cup of coffee while visiting Hawaii at the age of 57, called Kona coffee. 

We have a Keurig and aren't diehard coffee drinkers but will have a cup here and there, mainly Maxwell house.

No one mentioned WaWa yet.  I am in Pa and WaWa is all over the place as well as down the east coast and IMO is much better than Starbucks or Dunkin.  I've been hooked on their Hazelnut for at least a year although I limit myself to just one to sometimes two of those a day and the rest of the day, Decaf.  Coffee and water are pretty much the only things I drink so I need to be reasonable with the caffeine.  Just black works for me.  I do have a Keurig as well but use the WaWa grounds in a re-usable pod.  d**n, now I need to go make a cup of coffee.

The Cometeer cups are all aluminum and recycle easy as once you run ut theres no grounds left in the cup, but again - theyre not cheap.

Buy mine green from Sweet Maria's and Roast them in a Behmor 2000.  Pays for itself quickly, but more importantly will make you not like any roaster.  The beauty in green beans is that the quality is up to how you process them, not someone else.  This was my first capuccino today.

French press with a coarse grind when it is cold and I go straight cold brew all other times.  Stone Street out of Brooklyn is my go to with their Cold brew and organic dark blends.  I have also found that the BJ's brand Guatemalan French roast is pretty good too. Never any milk but usually a little sugar but not always.

I definitely love my french press when i want a good strong quality cup. We use a Mr Coffee with unbleached filters for the day to day coffee pot though.

As a rule, I drink Folger's Black Silk and I brew on the strong side. Drink it straight up black. While at BPS Springfield last October I picked up some Black Rifle, dark. It was excellent.

Yup, just post the link as-is. No need to add anything to it.  Works for YouTube vids too.

 

As for coffee, Boca Java Espresso is my go-to. I like their South Beach Rhythm too. It has a smoky taste to it. Hints of a campfire.

 

LongBottom Coffee makes a great vanilla creme brulee coffee if you like flavored coffee.

Kuerigs make the worst coffee I've tasted.  Even if I use one of the reusable K-Cups and fill it with my favorite coffee it's still a weak underbrewed cup of coffee.  It just doesn't allow the water to steep through the grinds long enough to make a good cup of joe.  Worst appliance I've ever bought.

I see I'm not the only one that roast his own.  Been doing that since 2000, when I bought my Livia 90 espresso machine.  It didn't take long to find out you had to have fresh coffee beans to make good espresso.  

I Build my own roasters and computer controllers to program and control the roast. 

I prefer the AeroPress for brewing a cup, but if the espresso machine is on, I prefer that and make a cup of Americana.  

Once you get to taste a real cup of coffee, it's very hard to drink any other.  I don't drink store bought coffee or restaurant coffee, most of that stuff is nasty.

stopped coffee after i got out of the military, was addicting to the point my body craved it in the morning and when i quit i would get severe headaches. The coffee that came in our vietnam era sea rations was very strong and had me buzzing after a cup.

 

Military coffee story here all true, when we were on base the big huge coffee makers 4 feet tall were always kept full for the officers and higher ranking enlisted and the person responsible for keeping them full was always the lowest rated person in our platoon.

On one day the soldier filling the container from the bathroom spiket whom was a friend of mine told me do not drink the coffee today as he then peeed into it. He was upset as he got busted weeks earlier and went to captains mass and got punished so he was still very upset and this was one way he got back at the higher ranking.

Local company called Dean's Beans has a few different dark roasts that I enjoy. We have them ship a 5 pound bag to our door and they roast it the day it's ordered. 

 

I also like Black Rifle, because like Dean's I enjoy giving them my money. 

 

I either use a percolator or French press, no filters here.
