I generally will tinker with a jerkbait a bit to try and get it to suspend by changing rings/hooks, I do not like the idea of putting strips on my baits personally, but if they work for you and are easier/less expensive I say go for it

I play with treble hooks and split rings and fluoro diameter as well, but 90% of the time upgrading treble just works fine for me with that bait.

Can anyone comment on how well the Kanata casts?  Ideally, how well it casts compared to a say a Vision Max LBO?

The Katana weighs a full ounce while the Max BO comes in a 3/4 oz.

They both cast pretty good. for me.

Thanks A-Jay.  That's good enough for me.  Going to order a GP Pro Perch and give it a try this spring.

I love the Max LBO and was looking for something slightly larger as long as it casts well.

Thanks again!

Sure thing ~

The Katana certainly is larger - effectively stout in fact.
