Worst part is - he'll probably make a killing on this as there are gullible people out there who'll believe the label...then cry when it turns out it's not true.

I bought a 30 pack of YUM Christie Craws for like $11. At least the picture was of a 30 pack. When it arrived, it was 2 packs of the 8 ct. I sent them a message and they gave me a bogus response that they used a stock photo and I didn't read the fine print that says actual product may vary from the picture. I wasn't happy, but I learned my lesson.

One of the reasons I don't purchase anything from there...too many bad experiences with 'fly by night' sellers.

They also side with the buyer 99% of the time- between ebay and paypal, it's really difficult to get screwed unless you aren't willing to go through the effort of opening a case...

I didn't figure it was worth it over a few bucks. No sense in getting my blood pressure up over it anyway. LOL

Yeah.  This is why I have no problems buying off eBay, but I rarely sell anymore.  I've been scammed too many times by buyers.

As always, caveat emptor.

Have to read all that fine print. People get ripped off buying empty boxes for expensive electronics all the time because they didn't read the fine print. When the seller list that it's the box only in the description, but the buyer overlooks it, then they've just won themselves a really expensive box.

$6.25 for each Edge on that 3700. What a deal! Would've been nice if you'd of gave us the link.

Over the years I have had mixed results buying things off of ebay.  The most frustrating fishing related purchase I experienced was I bought what was advertised as a NIB Shimano Calcutta 250 te dc.  When it arrived it was obvious that it wasn't NIB (had minor scratches, missing items that are normally included in the box).  When I contacted the seller she said it was her Dad's reel and that he used it a "few" times.  I told her she advertised it NIB and she said "well it's LNIB".  So it seems everyone has different grading systems.  I paid a premium for the reel thinking it was NIB.  Lesson learned.

My thoughts exactly. I used to sell on there quite a bit in the late 90's and early 00's, but the scammers and eBay's mgt ruined it.

PayPal sides with the buyer more often than not, which leaves the seller with no recourse. Then you tack on the ridiculous listing fees, final value fees, PayPal's cut, etc. It's just not worth the effort anymore.

Honestly, looking at the sellers listings, I bet they do not really know what they have is a $5 tray with a sticker.  It looks like this is a defective return reseller.  They are pretty common on ebay.

These scams probably work around the holidays when spouses and family members are buying gifts they know nothing about. I guarantee you if I told my wife to buy me a Plano Edge for Christmas and this listing was the first to pull up she’d have purchased it

These scams

The scam is buy a Plano Edge box and a plain 3700 box.  Put the Edge sticker on the 3700 box, and return it for full refund.  The retailer tosses the return into a bin, to be sold at auction to return resellers.  They see item in the manifest, inspect the condition, and place it up on ebay for retail, not knowing it isn't the correct product.

I contacted the seller and ebay about the two that they had listed and it appears they are not on there anymore. Either they sold or the seller took them down or ebay stepped in.

I agree that based off the other items the seller has listed, they didn't even realize it wasn't what they were listing it as.

Semi rated but gave me a good laugh. Some guy on Facebook is trying to sale a used Chronarch Ci4 for $220 and fighting those who say it’s worth less. Some people man
