Super User scaleface Posted April 11, 2021 Super User Posted April 11, 2021 For the first time this season none of my team is fishing on Sunday . Its not near as fun .    But this , in my opinion , is the most interesting tourney of the year . Mosely is not making the run . Christie is . Livesay is swinging for the fences with a 125 mile run . Its going to be exciting no matter the size of the fish . Lots of strategy going on . 2 Quote

Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted April 12, 2021 Global Moderator Posted April 12, 2021 Congrats to Jason Christie!!! Quote
FishinBuck07 Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 I am getting my teeth kicked in this year! haha! Had Christie in my lineup until I heard him say that Sabine was his arch nemisis, so I took him out of the lineup. Then he goes and does that to me!!!!!!!! Congrats to him!! 1 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted April 12, 2021 Author Super User Posted April 12, 2021 Really glad to see Christie get a win, and he did it throwing my favorite technique right now as well, a spinnerbait. I know Feider was throwing the same thing as well. Despite the low weights, this was a fun event to watch. Lake Fork should make for a totally different event.  9 days. Get those picks in. 2 Quote
Rpratt Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Don't forget to set your rosters for the new Drain the Lake fantasy game they are now starting! To find it, right next to groups on your roster page is the link Drain the Lake. Click that link and it will take you to it. This one is quite different. You pick 8 anglers, but the kicker is, you may not use those anglers for the rest of the year. So choose wisely....? 2 Quote

But with only 5 tournaments left (unless the classic gets included in this?) it won’t be nearly as hard as if this began at the start of the season. Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted April 12, 2021 Super User Posted April 12, 2021 The classic is included in the regular fantasy series of events, so I assume it will be included in Drain the Lake too. There will just be a need to plan ahead and figure out who to save for which events, and keep close track of the upcoming schedule, starting with Event #5: 5. Fork, TX 6. Neely Henry, AL 7. Guntersville, AL 8. Ray Roberts, TX -- The Classic (smaller & different field of anglers) 9. Champlain, VT 10. St. Lawrence River, NY Â If the classic is included, that requires additional strategy since the classic has its own roster, and the field is smaller. Â I think my approach will be to first figure out which anglers I definitely want to use, and then distribute them to different weeks. And maybe keep in mind a couple back-ups for each event in case I change my mind on someone, or if someone has to miss an event or end their season. Â 1 Quote
HaydenS Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Is the drain the lake thing required? I don't understand it. Quote

Super User scaleface Posted April 12, 2021 Super User Posted April 12, 2021 I put in a team for drain the lake , its subject to change. Livesay Walters Combs Talley Atkins Cobb Loughran Whatley   Quote
jtharris3 Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 I fared a bit better for the Sabine tourney.  Here's my Fork entry.   Good luck all! Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted April 13, 2021 Super User Posted April 13, 2021 Lake Fork Team: Â Â I balked at Zaldain's 64% (!) ownership, but he's going to blow up sooner or later and he's been consistently great at Fork. Â Also, fiddled around with Drain the Lake a little bit, and here's what I came up with -- Interestingly, other than Hudnall there's no overlap with my regular roster: Â Â 2 Quote
Finessegenics Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Might switch Zaldain for Yelas. Â Â DTL will be interesting, I've already mocked up my picks for the remaining tournaments. Here's my Fork team. Â 2 Quote

I wish we could enter them all at once, and keep each week open for editing until the event.  Like me, you only have one overlapping angler (Walters) between the two teams. One obvious reason is no buckets. Also, I'm ignoring ownership % completely since it seems like more of a "long game". I don't have a sense of whether or not that's a mistake...we'll see!  1 Quote

I'm really stumped on who to pick for those. The rest of the tournaments, I feel pretty confident in my teams. There's also some great anglers who I've completely left out like Cherry and Whitaker. Might edit a few things so we'll see. 1 Quote

I'm making my picks the same way I always have. Considering locals, how they fish on certain styles of water, how the bite may be, past performances on that lake, etc... and I'm having my worst year ever by a landslide. Guys who are historically top 15 performers on a body of water aren't even making the cut. I don't know what to do at this point. I feel like there's no safe picks at all this year on any body of water. 1 Quote
