Christie is catching fish doing something he talked about in the one of the latest bassmaster magazine. Throwing a big colorado bladed spinnerbait to pre/post/spawning fish, since he couldn't see them in the muddy water. Kinda cool to see. ?♂️ 1 Quote

Probably missed our last chance to get Christie in any bucket below A. Quote
Super User scaleface Posted April 9, 2021 Super User Posted April 9, 2021 The five largest fish is still the goal no matter where they are fishing at . Quote

Some guys expected to do well are Rick Clunn, Brett Preuett and Rick Morris. Rumor is they will let some of the anglers who defected over to MLF fish this tourney because it will be so good, so KVD, Wheeler & Jordan Lee would also be good picks. The weights will be low, it’s tough. Some folks make a massive long run all the way to Houston or something?? Pretty sure it has been discussed ?♂️ 2 hours ago, gimruis said: I have found that BassTrakk is often not very accurate. They always claim its "unofficial" but sometimes its WAY off. And since it relies on a mobile phone signal to update, even when it says "no activity", they could have a huge 5 fish bag limit. BassTrak goes totally off of what the angler tells their marshal. Historically, there's been no incentive to guys to give their marshals an accurate guess. They added a $1k bonus this year if an angler can correctly guess their livewell weight for BassTrak. Some guys seem to not like accurately giving updates. Seth Feider in particular is notorious for catching fish and greatly underestimating. I've seen numerous times where he'll catch a 6+ pound fish and report it as a 4 pounder. I've even seen a few times on Live where a guy will weigh a fish, read it out loud or the screen will be shown on camera, and then tell their marshal a weight half a pound lower. 4 1 Quote

There is a difference between intentionally catching smaller fish when there are larger fish in the lake or river and aiming to catch the largest fish in a lake or river that is predominately populated with smaller fish. The MLF format rewards chasing after lots of 12-14 inch fish, hence why the format is a dinkfest. 2 Quote
NittyGrittyBoy Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 What Christie is fishing is almost exactly what I normally fish. Except tannic water. Small winding river, I feel right at home watching Christie sling that spinnerbait. I know yall reservoir guys hate watching this, but this is always one I love to watch. Carry on ~ 3 Quote

Carry on ~ Yeah, what he's doing is a lot more familiar to me than the reservoir fishing we usually see. Up here the great lakes get national attention, but the vast majority of people here are fishing small- to medium-sized rivers and natural lakes. We have a few impoundments here and there, but nothing like the big reservoirs everybody else has. 1 Quote

With the new 2 pound limit they put in last year it hasn't been close to a dink fest. Now they have the Heavy Hitters which is leading to even bigger catches yet. Both are enjoyable to watch. Quote

You might should thank the complainers for the 2 lb minimum , just food for thought. Clearly people didn’t like 1lb minimum and clearly MLF/BPT listened. I feel like they’ve used 2 lb minimum ever since the term dink fest was coined 1 Quote
