A side note to the tournament.

I was waiting for the weigh-in to start and they were showing highlights of fish catches from the top 10.  For some reason, I noticed the difference in the hookset & landings done by two truly great anglers, Steve Kennedy and Jason Christie.

Christie set the hook while fishing a spinnerbait, on his toes but balanced, back arched.  He swiftly boat lifted the fish as it approached the gunnel, deftly catching the line & controlling the bass.  Conversely, Kennedy, fishing a swim jig I believe, set the hook flat footed, looked as if he almost fell over and had happy feet as he battled the fish.  He bounced the bass into the boat, missing the line and having the fish end up at his loafer shoed feet.

Christie has an athletic background, having played basketball in college while Kennedy is a former engineer and apparent spaz.  Very different physical abilities, yet both are legendary success's on the elite tour.

Pretty diverse sport...

Probably worth noting - Christie came from MLF where he's used to landing fish and not being allowed to let the fish hit the deck of the boat. Just food for thought.

And on another note, we have another event down. I had another dismal showing in my picks. I'm glad to see Gussy finally get a blue trophy. Well deserved by him.

We've got 16 days I believe until the next event. So start doing your research.

You'll be at a major disadvantage in terms of points for the season, but you could easily still do well in any of the events still remaining which would make you eligible for a prize based on the Bassmaster results.

A little early but I don't see myself switching anything up. 88 10 for tiebreaker weight.

Gah! At this rate, I'm not even gonna make the 'top 50' cut.

Don't worry.  You are in good company down there. ?

I've been having a terrible year so far. I hope I can turn it around this event.

It seems this year, a lot of the heavily favored guys haven't faired well. Locals haven't done overly great either this year.

I am warning you all now. Going out on a limb this tourney and I am either gonna whoop all of you handily, or you are going to see the most epic fail of all time....

I hope you're better at gambling than I . Mine were always epic fails .

I did make a change today . I looked up my bucket E pick on facebook and he stated its been a grind on one day but did hook up with one nice smallie .On  the second day   he posted a picture of a dink largemouth .

So I finally have a start where I don't suck and realize I didn't join the BassResource group.

Is Bassresource fantasy fishing group my first cast jinx?
