okiefisher8 Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 My dad is looking to buy a bass boat. It will be our first so were not looking to spend much. This is the boat were looking at http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/boa/1243243885.html What do you guys think? Anyone know what year it is? Quote
Super User cart7t Posted June 29, 2009 Super User Posted June 29, 2009 Don't take the sellers word on the compression test. Have the motor looked at. Check the transom for rot. That looks like a 300 series Ranger though it could be even older. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted June 29, 2009 Super User Posted June 29, 2009 On the starboard side of the transom there should either be a plate with a set of numbers or a set of numbers imprinted into the transom itself. On that will be the year of manufacture. The engine will also have a tag on it that gives its age. Quote
okiefisher8 Posted June 29, 2009 Author Posted June 29, 2009 If we go to look at it we will for sure get it looked at by a mechanic. How important is it that we test drive it? what years are the 300 series? Sorry for all the questions, this will just be the first boat purchase for us and I wanna make sure we dont have any regrets Quote
