Both my PB Largemouth Bass 5.26 lbs and my PB Channel Catfish 9.18 lbs came on the same lure. The Z-Man finesse TRD on a tiny child rig.

I don't know what it is about that rig. I didn't use it much this past season but I did really well on it. I think the reason I didn't use it more was because I didn't really care for the way it looked in the water and kept thinking the catches were just dumb luck.

This is another bait I want to experiment with more next season.

I started using it because it’s weedless. I keep using it because it was magic.

So it actually catches? i was so skeptical because it seemed like it took what little action a TRD had away for the sake of weedless so ive been on the hunt for the best EWG ned head and finally decided on lifted jigs the other day. But they wont be in for a week so I may rig up a tiny child until then.

Yes it catches fish, Bass, Catfish and Pickerel. I have watched big Channel Cats follow it to my kayak and turn away when they see me. I adjusted my retrieve accordingly. I slowed down and stop on occasion to let it drift back down. This accounts for a lot of the strikes I get.

I plan on using it a lot more in 2021. I discovered it’s effectiveness halfway through the season last year.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds like you are straight retrieving it, but then paused, let it glide down and sit for a few. Or am I misunderstanding?

A hopping retrieve off the bottom. On occasion when the bait is close enough to my kayak and I reel it in Catfish have followed it up.

I live right near there! Was it one of the Ft Stewart ponds?

YEP! Good ole Fort Stewart! Metz pond! I think that is pond #26. it also goes by the name metz pond. it was back around year 2000 or so. i used to fly down to my brother's, who lives in Hinesville, and fish the Fort Stewart ponds. They were AWESOME back then! Can't tell ya how many 6+lb bass i caught in those ponds. Pond 4 was a TROPHY pond! They drained it a while back. Not sure why they did, but that's a shame. It was really brackish color. Doug Hannah (The bass professor) had an article in Bass Master back in the 90's about Ft Stewart ponds. he said he seen possible world record bass in Pond #4. My brother has 2 bass over 13lbs from Pond #4.

I also like fishing a pond near there that has a HUGE tin man (20 ft+ tall) out in front of the place where it was. We called it the tin man pond. Caught a couple 10+lb'ers there. Great lake for 3lb'ers!

@JLBBass Awesome! I've heard a couple stories about the FSGA ponds. Sounds like getting the special license and online registration might be worth it.

You're gonna have me stalking around Hinesville looking for this tin man pond lol

Biggest smallmouth was 16.25" on a super fluke. I lost a couple bigger, including a new PB.

Biggest largemouth was a 21.5" punching prespawn.

Biggest Largemouth this summer was on a water Red Arsenal Assault Bug on a 1/4 ounce slider pro spider head. Was really impressed with the durability of this bait and it may replace the menace for me. Do wish they had a smaller version too.

Smallie was on a water silver, I dyed a clear silver bait, Producto Tourney grub on a Siebert Morel head.

I'm 15 and been fishing my whole life with good success but 2020 was by far my best year! It was like a light turned on and I just started catching big bass left and right. I caught 300 bass over 3 pounds, 100 over 5 pounds, and 5 over 7 pounds. I was stoked! I caught them on all sorts of stuff like: paddle tail swimbaits, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, grubs, and craws. (My 2 biggest were a 9 on a drop shot senko and a 10 on a lake fork fluke). My favorite lure that caught me the most big bass was the simple curly tail grub.

I caught 2 of my biggest largemouth on a Mepps size 3 inline spinner and I caught my pb on a weightless powerworm. I caught my pb smallmouth on a wacky rigged Yum dinger, which was pretty small since it was my first time fishing a lake with a decent amount of smallmouth and I had limited time to fish it.

I had to google several of the baits listed . yours is one of the weirdest looking baits I ever seen .Its actually a baby possum . My wifes nickname is possum . LOL

haha that's funny my best friend is now deemed as "possum" when he comes to my house to hang out, bc one time we were checking my traps and a possum came out bit his finger. i'm sure it hurt but it was hilarious, so he is now "possum" according to my dad lol.

YUM Dinger. Green pumpin and white I think. That two-toned worm. Whatever, they bit multiple colors that day. I fished 'dingers all season.

4.25 pounds. 3rd biggest LMB for me so far. From my Dad's dock.

So far in 2021 it’s a Zoom Trick worm in Pumpkin. Just over 5 lbs.
