Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 5, 2021 Global Moderator Posted January 5, 2021 I caught 2 largemouth withing a shad of each other, both right around the 6 3/4lb range and both on a Ned rig. Biggest smallmouth was a hair short of 5lbs, caught on a swinging football head and a Rage Menace in Moon Juice with the tips of tail dipped in chartreuse JJ's. Caught my new PB walleye at 5.62lbs on a homemade 3/8oz underspin and a 3.8" fat impact style swimbait. Of course, my biggest fish of the year had whiskers and was right at 40lbs. Caught it on a half a shad in a creek right where it dumps into the Kansas River on a MH 7' Ugly Stick Lite and 20lb braid. I was way outgunned and the fish was about as skin hooked as it could be. A whole lot of luck went into landing it but I'm really glad I did because my boys still tell people about it all the time. 6 Quote

I could tell about the few I lost but that's for another day. I had a lot of fun and can't wait to retire to the swamps of Eastern North Carolina! That’s a good-lookin’ bass! 1 Quote
Super User Bankc Posted January 5, 2021 Super User Posted January 5, 2021 I caught a 12 pounder on a Rebel Pop-R. Unfortunately, it was a catfish. That was the only time I've ever caught a catfish on a topwater. I was sure it was going to be my new PB until I got it up next to my kayak. Two kinds of laughs were had that day, just seconds apart. 1 Quote

jtharris3 Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 My largest (5lbs.) came on a 3.75" Rage Swimmer (Electric Shad) on a belly weighted hook. The second largest came on a 4" texas rigged Rage Bug (PB&J). Quote
ABrugs Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 My biggest of 2020 and overall PB was a 3.92 pound smallmouth bass out of LSC. I caught it on a 5” Yamamoto Senko in Green Pumpkin rigged weightless on a 3/0 Gamakatsu EWG. My biggest largemouth bass in 2020 and PB was 2.69 pounds also out of LSC. I caught it on a Strike King 3/4 Red Eyed Shad in Chartreuse Baitfish. ^ Last year was my first year bass fishing so I’m hoping to share some bigger numbers at the end of 2021! 2 Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted January 6, 2021 Super User Posted January 6, 2021 I got this PB 8.2 lb. on a War Eagle gold spinnerbait in gold shiner pattern. It actually looks smaller than the 7 pounder in my profile pic. That's why I keep that pic. I also got 2 bass in the 7's on a black/blue jig and craw. Aside from these, everything else was 5 lb. and below. 3 Quote
Sphynx Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 For me the biggest producer was a Strike King KVD 1.5 in the bluegill color, silent. No idea how much the official weight was but it was a smallmouth over 3lb, I need to remember to start bringing my scale. 1 Quote

I was fishing for muskie with the 130 whopper plopper and got a big blow up, super excited...channel cat. dang! Also first time i got a cat on top water. 6.2 LMB during spawn while pike fishing. On a Duo Realis Rozante jerkbait. Out of season unfortunately. Biggest in season was a 5 lb LMB on a Keitech Crazy Flapper. This is probably my favourite catch as I believe the same fish broke me off the previous week. Fishing in shallow in a kayak among lily pads and this fish waked from 10-15 feet away and annihilated my bait while I was basically working it like a top water. I have never seen a fish coming from so far to eat a bait, it was like Jaws. Quote
mikey z Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 4.75 lb largie on 1/2 oz War Eagle double willow spinnerbait in pro's choice (white to chartreuse). No trailer. Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted January 7, 2021 Super User Posted January 7, 2021 Largemouth: Senko Smallmouth: Megabass pop max Biggest fish of any species was a very good-sized freshwater drum that gobbled up a Siebert Dock Rocker jig. I didn't get a length or weight (I wanna say around 8lb); I haven't caught one of these in years and it was easily my largest ever. Quote
BigTimeBassin Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 Biggest smallmouth came in just shy of 4 pounds on a siebert tungsten button head with a xzone lures finesse craw, Bama craw color. Biggest largemouth was about 4.4 on a weighted Texas rig, xzone lures muscle back craw in pb&j. Quote
