I purchased a shimano curado dc a few months ago and noticed the brake dial is real tight and won’t go to the 4 setting while I don’t need it there I still want to know if I can fix it. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

I just bought a curado dc 150 HG this spring and I have the same issue with the brake dial. While spooling some braid on it, I was able to dial the brake up to 3 but it was real hard to move. I couldn't get it to 4. Now it's stuck on 3 and I'm unable to dial it back to 2, the recommended setting for braid. Were you able to fix this with your reel? Thanks.

Since my heart attack my memory has slipped some & I think one of the following got it working again.  I loosened either the spool tension knob or the drag so there was no tension & it worked.

Try rotating it back to open and take the spool out and then put the spool back in.

that should work.

Did it end up Working? I have a Curado DC 200 XG and the brake dial is stiff when changing it to the 4th setting. Stiff right out of the box. Although my JDM SLX DC XT does not have that issue.

That’s because the slx dc xt is a better reel. ;)

I used to have one (151 HG), no problem with the dial but I got rid of it quick...and yes, the SLX DC XT is a better reel.
