snake95 Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 What is the best source for getting an estimate of fair price for a 4-5 year old Hobie kayak with pedal drive? Also, has the technology changed enough that it wouldn't be worth looking at a pedal drive Hobie from that era? Just looking for a sound basis for estimating the fair market value for a particular model, year, and condition. I have a neighbor with a used one in storage that he is talking about selling and says interested in selling. I don't know which model I am talking about yet. Quote
GTN-NY Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 There are Facebook Hobie groups you could check in with. Also a group called Kayak Fishing Buy, Sell, Trade 1 Quote
VolFan Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 After a few years old, kayak price really depends on the level of motivation of the seller. Depreciation is almost always 50% at least on the boat and drive, especially older drives. Add to that that most people are selling to get them out of the way for a new boat, or just to get them out of the way, and you should be able to get one that old pretty cheap. 1 Quote
