Spinnerbait skirts falling apart :(

I use the Terminator Quickskirt when mine become too worn, ripped, or damaged to continue being used.  The lower right corner of the photo are one color the replacement skirts I use.  And since I mostly use the Terminator spinner baits, well, they go together good.

Keep it simple and cheap. All you have to do is tie a uni knot around them with something like 8# mono.

Not true. It's tedious, but I do it all the time. Lay out the strands so they line up, wrap a piece of tape around them to hold them together, then tie them on. I make lots of nice custom color combinations.

I found that the way I was storing them in a standard 3700 box was causing more damage than me fishing them.  I have since started to use a Plano spinnerbait box.  Problem solved.  I haven't replaced a spinnerbait skirt in years.

You know it's the little things that can make a difference. Try a couple of the

Lumaflex skirts.

Yeah, its super easy.  I use fly tying wire and it works great.  Thread is a little cheaper and works really well, but I would suggest getting a bobbin to make things a little easier.  If the bands have completley disintegrated and the skirt has fallen apart Boss makes good replacement skirts for the money.

Or thread a swimbait on it and forget the skirt.

This is a lot of work but like Fin said it does work. I really like the o-ring method. Tape all the skirt strands together then slide the taped end through the o ring and use the o ring like a rubber skirt collar. Get the skirt into place, the o ring is nice for adjusting and evening out the skirt before you tie it permanently. Then use any method mentioned above. I like wire tying.

War Eagle spinnerbaits are wire tied. They also have good quality replacement skirts you can put on any bait. Or you can just wire tie the ones you have before they get old and the band gets brittle.

Thanks again for the spinnerbait skirts @roadwarrior they are the perfect color! I can’t wait to see how these move in water. When I pull one from the face of a bass I’ll tell it that roadwarrior sends his regards!!!
