Super User Cgolf Posted December 28, 2020 Super User Posted December 28, 2020 I got these for Christmas and since I can't use them till this spring I was curious if anyone has used them and has any pointers for me. The Yo-Zuri I believe is a newer bait and has really flat sides, so guessing cold water bait or a post front bait. If interested I can post pictures. I know the LC is the lower end price wise for them, so I hope that doesn't mean it isn't as good as their other offerings. Would have asked about the KVD 100, but early posts on hear have me thinking the thing is a dud. If it truly is a floater I will likely end up in the trout box, perfect size for the creek near my place. Quote

They whacked a lot of that line and redid them and offer them under the Yo-Zuri name now it seems. Unfortunately, my most productive color was one of the colors they did away with. I had a nearly 20lb bag of smallmouth this spring, in which it accounted for 4 of the 5 fish that day. I'm holding onto hope for the 100 KVD. I'll get it weighted right and I think it'll be good, but it's taking more work than it should for the price. 2 Quote

Thanks, and it makes you wonder if they changed anything else since it is quite a bit cheaper than the Duel-Hardcore flat SP that has even been on sale at TW. Would be interesting to know if the internals are the same. Have you tried the Cheaper LC lightning pointer? In know you use LC jerkbaits. I generally don't buy more expensive Jerkbaits, ReRange is the exception because I got them on a good sale last year and they hooked me lol, but I still only have 4. I have lost too many to Musky to invest big money in jerkbaits. The 100 if it floats I will use it on the trout stream as it has the perfect size and profile. Not worth the time to me to work with it to make it suspend and since I can repurpose it I will be a happy camper. I was hoping to find a replacement for the Jackall squad minnow 80, but I can keep looking. Quote
DomQ Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 I was just looking at those new 3DB 110 yo zuri jerkbaits, they have some really nice patterns and are priced well. They also have the weight transfer system in them to cast further which should be nice. I'm going to have to pick some up for sure. Quote

I wouldn't be surprised if the Duels didn't sell at that price point so they rebranded them and put them out under the Yo-Zuri name to see if that helped. I haven't used the lightning pointer. I have very few Lucky Craft baits left in my box. The Duo Realis Rozante 77sp is the best smaller jerkbait out there and the Duo Realis 85 is really good too. 1 Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted December 29, 2020 Super User Posted December 29, 2020 Let us know how that YZ does for you. For less than great reasons, I have exactly zero confidence in any Yo Zuri lure with a lip. Quote

This is the first year we can fish for bass year round, catch and release, so I hope this bait will excel during the early season. Also hope that it will be good post cold front on our N WI, vaca lake that seems to average 2 cold fronts the weeks we stay up there. Will post pictures later for those that haven't seen these baits. I ordered a 100 without reading any reviews. Now I'm hearing about the floating issue. I was excited about throwing this little guy come April on a spinning rod. Tho I suppose my 6'11" med+/Chronarch MGL could handle it. But I think it'll do better on spinning. Especially if it's windy out. Quote

So I compared the dual hardcore flat SP and the Yo Zuri and there are quite a few differences as can be seen in the pictures. The dual has a magnet holding the weights middle picture, where the Yo zuri uses a different channel design to hold them. The yo zuri bait also has some mini bbs that the dual doesn’t top picture. Lastly the tail is weighted on the dual. The body shape looks identical other than some differences in the Gill section which makes sense since it is a different mold anyways. 1 Quote
Emiliano Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 I've some LC lightning pointer 110sp, I always change the treble hooks on every LC 'cause the standard are very bad IMO, not sharp at all and tend to bend, so I usually change them and put Owner BC 36 #6 on that particular bait. It's a suspending jerk, it has very sharp movements when you twitch it, more aggressive than the standard flash pointer but I learn to be more gentle with the lightening 'cause if worked as the standard one it tends to roll too much. Bassattackr Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 Haven't tried either but the Yo-Zuri 110 jerkbaits look great. Quote
