If I think it's a bass, I say, "Gotcha!"     But if it's a pike or musky, I say, "Come HERE, you &$#*&^&$%$!!!!"

   Seems to work. ?    jj

On a tap- Oh?

On a set- there he is!

On a miss- calmly look over at my buddy and say "there was a disturbance in the force"

“ There he is”

If Its a big fish I usually pray out loud that I get it in the boat... and if I do then it’s “ thank you Lord “

If I lose the fish, If it was real big, I have been known to yell NOoooooo.

Then I start saying stuff like “ Theres no way I should have lost that fish “ etc.

I know the people on my lake must think Im crazy, and theyre half right! ?

As in (?):

Nadine, honey is that you?
Oh, Nadine, honey where are you?
Seems like every time I catch you
But you're up to something new

I like to stay silent, especially if it is a big fish, and then scare the heck out of my partner when the fish finally breaks the surface near the boat.

I do this to my daughter all the time.

Alone nothing.  With a partner, bite.  If it's a big one, get the gaff.

On the bite or hook set I say “There’s a fish!”. On the release I say “Thanks buddy” before gently setting it back into the water.

I used to say “Fish on!” It has shortened to just, “Fish” over time.

once it’s on the line it’s usually, “Please don’t jump”

Last Cast!

Literally happened 3 times last year. And it was to be my last cast of the day. What really makes it just freaking awesome is hearing my buddy in back of the boat filling the air with explitive remarks....

Usually a "bump" for slow baits and a "Holy $#!^" or "Train!" for fast moving baits.

In almost every video I've made I hear myself saying what sounds like "Ooop!" followed by "Got one!" or something similar. I need to do a montage someday.

Here it is, because that's how bored I am these days! I put a link to BassResource in the video description and explained why this video exists.

Having the camera on probably makes a difference in what I say, but I tend to talk to myself anyways and I sometimes forget I have it. I always have it.

“There ‘e here”

”here we go”

if there is fishing footage, there is a lot of grunting involved. 99.9% is completely unnecessary. Not sure why I do it.

I know Iaconelli says "Giant" even before he sets the hook. Then of course reels in a 1.5 lber.

@schplurg loved the "oh!". Just a guess, but it seemed like you said this on unexpected and/or violent strikes... good stuff. I also liked how you stepped it up to "oh shhh" on the good topwater hit.

Either an excited, "Sweet Sassy Molassy!" or a firm "Bob Saget"
