JeffD Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Hey guys, I'm always looking to make my boat more user friendly. What have you done to put your own touch it? No fix/upgrade is to small or large. Quote

Michigander Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 This winter, the boat is getting a full rewire. Every wire will plug into a hub and route out. There will be extra slots and extra wires so if something goes wrong on the water, I can change the wire carrying the current or change the slot. All with minimal time and possibly no tools. Also going to try and get a speaker in there because I want my boat to say stuff like "Startup sequence initiated" when accessory power comes online. 2 Quote
Dirtyeggroll Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Recessed trolling motor tray, turned deck extension into storage compartment, add some tool holders in convenient places and a few other things here and there. Quote

Way north bass guy Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 I don’t have pics on my phone and the boat is in storage at my shop, but I got a 12” long magnet bar off Amazon last year and mounted it just in front of and below my windshield. Works great to store all my different pliers, side cutters and jaw spreaders on. They’re always right in reach from the front deck, but out of the way at the same time and I’m not stepping on them all the time. 1 Quote

Super User FishTank Posted December 27, 2020 Super User Posted December 27, 2020 I did this on a buddy's boat... The rod storage on his boat was just a long hole and his rods would get bumped around a lot on the water causing some nicks and dings on his rods and reels so I cut two pieces wood to size with holes in one and slats in the other and mounted them in his rod storage compartment. The holes have felt placed inside them and pvc pipe on one side to hold the rod in place. Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted December 27, 2020 Super User Posted December 27, 2020 When my powerhead was rebuilt the person I hired was extremely sloppy to the point I had to recarpet the front deck. This is the results. Removed the foam pad from the seats and covered them in carpet. Built an aluminum frame to mount a deck extension. 3 Quote
kjfishman Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Hydraulic struts on your rod locker and storage bin lids would be a nice touch. Quote
