Can anyone suggest fishing pants for warmer months?

Sun protection/breathable are most important features but also want try find something light weight with a pocket that will hold up to a pair of pliers/line snips.

Any brand that stands out?  And any suggestions on how their sizes run?

6'0 190lb 34 waist in most pants.

Thanks!

Wrangler Twill cargo pants - my go-to for years. Lightweight, reflect most of the sun's heat, comfy, LOTS of pockets.

Are you bank fishing or boat fishing?  Bank fishing - stickers, thorns, brambles, poison ivy & suck are issues and therefore you need a sturdier pant.  When I was a bank bound meat fishing bush hippie, I found heavy denim bib overalls worked best for me.      Boat fishing - different story.  A number of years ago I got blood clots in my leg - since then I've worm the anti-blood clot socks as a preventative measure (aka therapeutic gradient compression hosiery ). These are knee high and do a good job of preventing sun burn on my legs and they are relatively cool as long as you don't think about it too much.  Then I wear lightweight shorts & I'm done.  I do put quite a bit of sun screen on my knees and a few inches above my knees.

Edit:  Just looked and according to Google, Greenburg is in the Pittsburg metro area.  I wonder how the fishing shops in Pittsburg would answer your question?

My issue with lots of fishing clothes is I'm not a fan of looking "skuffy".   I'm too old for the jeans & t-shirt look.   If the shirt & shorts don't match, I at least want to look like I put some thought in to not looking skuffy.   My go to look the last couple of years (summertime ) has been a light colored spf 50 fishing hoodie, shorts in a complementary color ( because it is almost impossible to find matching shirts & shorts) and then the obligatory white anti blood clot socks.  I like light colors in the summer time because they reflect the heat and dark colors seem to absorb heat.

Lastly, a thing I've found that vastly improves my attitude in the summer time is to bring a change of clothes to drive home in.   Not a fan of driving home, in the tow vehicle AC, wearing damp sweaty clothes.   I'll change clothes right in the put stuff away area right next to the ramp and I don't care who is watching.

I go with the SPF 50 fishing shirt (got 4 as a gift from a member) and the light color twill pants. I burn something terrible, so shorts are right out. PFD is always worn.

These are really awesome fishing sun pants, but they aren’t cheap.  They have a reinforced pliers pocket that is pretty solid.

Columbia Men's Silver Ridge Cargo Pants. Super thin. They dry out very quickly while walking or if there's a slight breeze when you get them wet or sweat in them. UPF 50 protection. They have plenty of pockets. I have the shorts, the convertible pant/short version, and the standard pants. I really like them. Plus they're very stain resistant. Cool Grey or Columbia Grey are the lightest colors followed by Fossil.

should nicely in the kayak.
I also got those in heavier weight with fleece lining for colder months

I am intrigued by these.  How is the quality?

Yep. Wear them over neoprene when out on the kayak. I’ve had them for years.

Prana Zion.  Expensive but worth it.

Others I like..... Kuhl Liberator, Patagonia Guide Water and for going all out Arc'teryx Gamma LT> These pants are tough, light and breathable.  They aren't for super hot days though, best for 70 degrees and below.  One other thing, don't ask how much they are.

In the summer I wear these  AFTCO shorts.  They are amazing, super lightweight, nice high inseam, quick drying, and crazy durable.  They are also my hiking shorts and after like 3-4 years of use they don't have a single rip or snagged thread despite spending a lot of time pushing through greenbriar and wild raspberry thorns.  When I want more sun protection I wear a thin pair of poly leggings under them.  I prefer the leggings/shorts over pants for a few reasons.  First, I can pull my permethrin-treated hiking socks up over the leggings, giving me very good tick protection as they have to withstand 3-4" of contact with the socks to get to my ankles.  Second, when they get wet, the leggings dry a ton faster by virtue of being tight to my legs and absorbing less water then pants in general. Thirdly, the leggings take most of the damage and are cheaper to replace then decent LW hiking pants.

Columbia makes some good stuff. I only have a pair of Magellan convertible short/pants combo but I need an upgrade.
