So what time were you awakened by an excited kid? It was 4 am when our son woke us saying he’s been trying since 3:30 to try and get back to sleep. He’s 10 and I’m guessing will be his last year he believes in Santa so we’ll let the early wake up slide. It was fun watching his excitement, nervousness, and joy opening his gifts. Less than 45 minutes later it’s all over with, he’s exploring everything he got, the wife went back to bed, and I’m left wide awake twiddling my thumbs.

I'm going to have some more coffee and wait until 6:00 to get the birds up.

It's kinda like fishing.  We should all be "morning" people here.

Not in Michigan during the winter. We hibernate.

I've worked a bit in Alaska, and they do all their sleeping in winter.

In summer, it's nothing for a millwright to leave his desk at 3:30pm, drive (or fly) to fish Kenai all night, and be back at his desk at 7:30 am.

It’s 9:35 AM EST and my kids are still asleep. We don’t expect them for at least another hour.

My dog Abby, however, decided to wake me up last night at 2:00 AM to go to the bathroom. ?

The last couple of years we were up before our son, but now that he’s older and doesn’t require as much sleep. 4 am will catch up to him around 6 pm. ?

He sees you when you’re sleeping and knows when you’re awake.

In middle Tennessee we started the day with a bazaar bombing in downtown Nashville.   I’ll be glad when 2020 is over.

Looks to be intentional from what I am reading

Definitely.  The latest rumor is that the RV had a loud speaker warning people that there was a bomb,  then it started a countdown before the detonation.   It’s hard to imagine what the motive could have been.  Bazaar.

wife bought me some arashi square bills 1.5. One with rattles one silent. Of course i found them on the bottom shelf super sale area at fleetfarm that was picked over but why didnt the anglers grab the last 2 arashi in an empty sales bin?  Cost was $1.24 each.

She also bought me a rapala ripstop 11, kvd  2.5 square bill and 1.5 and a origial floating rapala all requested by me but she also bought some spinners that she lost to replentish our tacklebox which she picked out herself that she likes to throw, black head, skirt and neon orange willow blades.

I bought her jewelry which she has a pretty big collection, bigger than my lure collection.

I miss those days @12poundbass.  My son is 17yrs old and I had to go wake him up at 8:15am so he could have one of my wife's delicious homemade waffles and open his gifts before he sped off to his mom's at 9:30.  My step-daughter is 25yrs and lives just over 1000 miles away.  No more excited kids waking me up.  No more toys for me to play with.  Heck, my son just wants cash so he gets an envelope and a few cheap items so he has stuff to unwrap.

Have fun with the little ones!!!  I really want to make a fort in the living room and play with Hot Wheels but my wife would probably call and ambulance if I did that alone.

When I was young the rule was we could get up early and open our stockings but not wake my parents up until 8 am.

I tried that with my son when he was young but it didn't work, He'd wake me up at the crack of dawn to show me what was in his stocking.

The tough part was no sleep those nights. I'd have to wait until he fell asleep to put together whatever needed to be built out in the garage and then sneak all the presents in under the tree. Now that he's older he prefers to sleep in until he smells the bacon cooking.

Our oldest woke us up at 6:30 and our youngest was still sleeping at the time, so I think they did pretty good, better than I did as a kid.
