niiickboy Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Hey so, i found someone who needs to get rid of their lightly used zillion because of financial reasons and they are willing to let it go for 150, is this reel a good reel? plus what should i look for in a second hand reel to ensure i’m not getting screwed with something that is broken lol Quote
GetFishorDieTryin Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 Buying a used reel is just like buying a used car or boat. You can get a vague idea of how it was used or maintained from a picture, but your not going to know exactly what your getting until you get it in your hands. Quote
papajoe222 Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 If it is, as the seller says, lightly used, it will look almost new. A nick here or there on the exterior is common on a used reel, but multiple nicks and scratches are a good indication the reel was abused. Another indicator of a reel that hasn't been taken care of is a dirty level wind gear and/or line guide. That's a good deal on that reel, but the old saying; You get what you pay for, often applies to good deals. Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted December 22, 2020 Super User Posted December 22, 2020 As a reel goes, I have two. I bought one from a forum member. That price is really good. They are superb reels. The handle is large. That’s easy to remedy. Quote
beezer08 Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 I have this reel and it’s currently the favorite one in my arsenal. It’s honestly probably a little overpowered for Michigan bass, but it does well throwing anything 3/8 oz to 2oz (I don’t throw anything bigger). I use it mostly for pitching and swimming jigs. One thing I will say is that it is not a bombing distance caster. While not having an SV spool, it is definitely controlled casting. 1 Quote
