I shared this last year.  I want to thank everyone for all the information and interactions.  I realize that duration doesn’t necessarily mean experience.  I have picked up some great tips this last year that will make me a better angler.  I hope I did likewise.

This site and forum has been one of the few constants during a crazy year.  Checking in is like having coffee and shooting the breeze with like minded friends.  It’s more than stuff.  It’s like therapy.  Where else can you get that and not chuck out $200.00 bucks an hour except Tackle Warehouse?  So there it is.  I appreciate the tackle I bought on the flea market, the suggestions, sharing of experience an humor.  Want a refill?

X2.  My wife keeps asking how many rods and reels plus baits does one need to go fishing and then he throws them all back!!!!

I've only recently signed up and have lurked here before.  Just reading through old posts has gave me some answers to head scratchers I've had that have been plaguing me as novice fishermen.  To anyone on the fence about joining a large forum like this, I'd highly recommend it.

I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again. I’ve been a member of various hunting forums over the past 15 years or so and learned quite a bit to improve my deer hunting. But I learned more in 6 weeks on BR to vastly improve my bass fishing skills. It’s an awesome site.

My bank account likely doesn’t agree, but the Monkey gives two ??up!

Catt: I am surprised you did not tell your wife the truth. That you needed all that gear so you could catch Moby  Dick's Mom.?

I’ve been on here a few years now. I’m also on a couple other fishing sites both national ones and more local to me, and this one is about my favourite. Really feels like one big family here. I’ve learned quite a few things and maybe helped a couple people out over the years. It’s a nice place to visit and get away from work, and life’s other non fun deals. Hope everyone has a better 2021, and we all get to blab about our fishing ( or whatever else), on here as often as we can.

Started here a while ago.

Eventually ventured to a few other bass sites.

The drama was over bearing.

I soon bailed on every one.

This is the only site I frequent now

because there's just nothing else close IMO.

You folks have helped me so many times and in so many ways,

I could never explain it or ever come close to showing enough gratitude.

And I bet less than half of it has anything to do with bass fishing.

Thank you just doesn't seem sufficient.

I'm coming up on year 3 here and it's SO much better than other fishing forums I've joined...then left. Friendly people, Glenn and the gang keep it clean and safe, almost an overload of information not just from the articles and Glenn's vids but also the numerous people here.

As a retired guy who doesn't get on the water near as much as I'd like to, hanging around here is like hanging around an old mom-and-pop tackle shop. Friendly people with buckets full of good tips/tricks/knowledge.

Been here for more than a few years now. I have been on a number of other bass forums, None have been as helpful as BR, also most, if not all of those other forums are gone. I think that says a lot for the staff, and the members here. Thanks!

Yea I joined several local fishing forums after college in 08 when I realized they existed. They basically all went down to about very small amount of members when everyone just started using facebook for fish pics instead. Well I don’t want anything to do with Facebook, then I found bass resource! What a great find, I read it like 35 times a day

Craw, in my opinion the best fishing site on the web hands down! Great bunch of folks, and willing to share some great info. I like this site a lot myself.

It took me a full season to catch a single fish. After I caught that smallmouth bass on a horribly rigged curly tail grub on a jig head, I knew I would enjoy this sport. I had no idea how to rig it up back then.

That one fish led me to research how to fish and all the little things that go into this sport. That's when I found this site and the YouTube channel. That was a game changer for me, I had no idea what I was doing at all.

After a few years now of learning and actually doing, I feel grateful for the knowledge shared here by more experienced anglers. It has become a huge part of my life and how I spend my time.

It's still amazes me how simple, yet complicated fishing truly is. I love that you never truly master it, it's always learning. But that bait monkey is for real ?

What is so utterly amazing is the diversity of it’s members.  To think you can read or watch information from folks in Canada, Mexico, New York, the Great Lakes region, the Entire country for that matter is very very special. Even those around Toledo Bend.? I just love it.

My road to BR is convoluted. I am not a forum guy and it was a fluke I started on a forum site. Being a charter Life member of B.A.S.S. Insider had a link to their new bass fishing forums so I joined. The Insider forums were very similar to the warm community feeling this site has.

I signed in as “Oldschool” and enjoyed the tight the site for a few years contributing lots of posts. B.A.S.S. in their wisdom shut down the Insider site moving members to their Bassmaster forums. What a bunch jerks nothing but drama.

I got a email from a Insider member to check out the BassHoles new forums and most of the In members joined and continued the community feeling. The BassHoles site sold and again lost a few years of shared input.

Joined Western Bass site and it to changed format to mostly tournament and NorCal members. Oddly Gary Dobyns recommenced the BR site to me. Joined and haven’t looked back enjoying the community family feel.

Thanks to Glenn May.
