Looking for some help and opinions for a bank shore cranking rod. 3 options im looking at will be below.

Im looking to use the rod for the following
Baitcaster will have a SLX MGL
Bank fishing
Rock and some sparse grass
1/4 oz maybe lighter to 1/2oz max cranks
This includes some square bills

Rods in consideration
ML zodias crank 7', 3/16-3/4
M zodias crank 7', 1/4-3/4
M slx glass 7', 1/4-3/4

The zodias are on sale right now because they are the old non monocoque handle. Im hesitate with ML because I have the feeling ill break a lighter rod bank fishing.

Anyone have experience with the rods in question? Should I stay away from any mentioned?

$100 difference in price point between SLX and Zodias rods.

No brainer is the Zodias is $99. Go with the Medium power.

I bank fish exclusively and I have several medium light rods that I've caught 5oz bluegills all the way up to 25lb carp on...never broke one.

It doesnt matter what power the rod is if you high stick it, its going to break.  The graphite SLX rods arent very light rods I can only imagine how heavy the glass rods are.

The real question is ML or M Zodias.  If your going to be fishing the bank I would assume your not going to be throwing many DD cranks, so you could probably get away with the ML.

The ML probably throws 3/16 and 1/4 better then the M.  If you throw more cranks in the 3/16-5/16 go with the ML, if not then get the M.

I would go with Medium power for sure, unless you're only throwing very small and light cranks. The Zodias line does tend to run a little heavy, but you can throw a crank all day on a MH/M as well, where I'm fairly sure the ML is still not quite a normal medium.

Medium zodias for sure. Med light is too light for small cranks and the slx isn't near the rod the zodias is
