Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 20, 2020 Global Moderator Posted December 20, 2020 The 6th Sense Provoke, Duo Realis 110,120, and Rozante 77, and the Strike King 300 are my main jerkbaits. This has been the color the last few trips. 2 Quote
Jim Sutter Posted December 21, 2020 Author Posted December 21, 2020 Bluebasser86, Thank you, for that information pertaining to Jerkbaits. I will try and find a jerkbait in the color that has worked great for you. Take care and have a wonderful and safe day. Quote

Jim Sutter Posted December 21, 2020 Author Posted December 21, 2020 galyonj, Thank you, for that information. I called the store that I buy from but they do have any of the jerkbaits made by 6th sense. Quote
galyonj Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Hard for a store to carry everything. That said, there are a whole bunch of jerkbaits out there, and I'd wager that they all catch fish just fine. The salient point, for me, of @Bluebasser86's post is that, sometimes, it's a good idea to throw something that doesn't look like anything they're used to seeing, even if it moves like something they see all the time. Jim Sutter Posted December 21, 2020 Author Posted December 21, 2020 galyonj, That's a good point. My trouble is, once a catch a fish on lure, I keep going back to it. Which means a lot of my lures never touch water. Quote

And it is actually a metallic copper finish in person, not that pinkish, reddish, color like in the picture. I bought it for heavy overcast days, similar to when a gold jerkbait works but to give them something a little different than the gold baits everyone throws. It's worked well both times I've used it now. 1 Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted December 22, 2020 Super User Posted December 22, 2020 While I don't have any Megabass jerkabaits, I do have a few Rapalas. For the most part I use the Berkley Cutters and Lucky Craft a lot more and have some pretty good success with them. Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted December 22, 2020 Super User Posted December 22, 2020 75% of my jerkbaits are Rapala with a few LC Flash Minnows, Berkley Cutters and Smithwick Rogues tossed in for a little variety. Quote
Jim Sutter Posted December 22, 2020 Author Posted December 22, 2020 Boomstick and MNfisher, Thank you, both of you for your information concerning jerkbaits. I definately will check them out. Take care and have a wonderful and safe day. Quote
EzyEric Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 When do you guys throw metallic or opaque colors vs natural/translucent? Assuming the water is not very dirty. Quote

It's the sizes, diving-depths, and whether they're floating, sinking, or suspending where the variance helps more. Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted December 22, 2020 Super User Posted December 22, 2020 Always liked the Smithwick Rogue, and still use them a lot. The affordability makes them a top choice for me where there are pike. As for Rapala I've caught bass on the Husky Jerk, but that's the only one, and the Rogue has still been more effective for me. On the spendier end, I have had a lot of success with the lucky craft slender pointer, which doesn't seem to get mentioned that often. Something about the thinner profile seems to do the trick in a few of the places I fish. Quote
Jim Sutter Posted December 22, 2020 Author Posted December 22, 2020 MN Fisher and MIbassyaker, Thank you, both of you for your information pertaining to purchasing jerkbaits. I definately will check out Smithwick Rogue lures and the Lucky Craft ones. Take care and have a wonderful and safe evening. Quote
Jason.Domingo Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 They sure are pretty to look at. While I do enjoy fishing Vision 110s, I do own a handful of Provoke 106s as well. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted December 23, 2020 Super User Posted December 23, 2020 110's in Pro Blue, French Pearl, Elegy Bone, Sexy Shad and Perch. Quote
