Rpratt Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 At my age, it would be so hard not to want to fish with somebody I have related to for most of my life, and that would be Bill Dance. After that without a doubt it would fall to the next 5....Hank Parker, Clunn, KVD, Hackney and Swindle. Quote

I am sure a lot of anglers on here have met Ike in person. I have talked to him several times multiple places over recent years, and in person he is a very engaging guy to talk to. In my experience he's actually a great listener and tries really hard to connect with each fan. His "entourage" of his wife and the Ike Foundation folks are personable and provide him with great support and help keep him on track. Pure Fishing and Rapala and Missile and others have a really great ambassador for their products and for the sport with Ike. The fact that his name is on so many products is a testament to his great people skills as well as tireless promotion. I'd also love to head out on the water with him: you'd learn a lot and have fun doing it. Quote

Never met him in person though. I can just imagine me hooking into a good one and him yelling YEAH GET IT LETS GO!!! 1 Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted January 18, 2021 Super User Posted January 18, 2021 This question gets asked yearly and I always look forward to the replies. I suppose fishing with a pro would be great. If I had to pick one I guess I'd go with Jake Whitaker because he's semi-local. The folks I want to fish with include: 1. @A-Jay I want to go catch Small mouth at the mythical Lake Menderchunk. 2. @Catt ... Toledo Bend at night using Rebel Ringworms! 3. @WRB.. Clear Lake and watching a big bass guy! 4. @Dwight Hottle... To learn the jerkbait and catch some Smallmouth. 5. @Teal... To fish the Swamps of allover Eastern North Carolina! The above folks have freely shared so much information with this site it's unreal. They are great fisherman but more than that they are good people. 2 3 Quote

Thanks man, you are close enough that we can make that happen this spring. You really are a class act. I'm honored that you put me in that group of fine fisherman! Quote

Bill and his "people" made accommodations to bring my handicapped brother along. My brother has been dead almost 20 years now. Some BR members of Christmas past were able to get some pics I had of Bill and my brother autographed by the man himself. 2 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 18, 2021 Super User Posted January 18, 2021 The thing about Bill Dance is that in real life he is the same as his television persona. 4 Quote
Obi_Wan Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 Brian Latimer. Hank Parker. Bill Dance. Denny Brauer. 1 Quote
