I don't eat any of the fish I catch. None of them taste good to me and no it isn't "because I haven't had them cooked right".  I've been cussed out more than a few times for turning loose keeper walleye and crappie when people asked if they could have them, most recently when I caught my PB walleye and had guys on the bank screaming at me for not putting my boat on the rocks in a 25mph wind to give it to them ?‍♂️

I like some kinds of saltwater fish and sushi though. There's a place by my parents that has a seared ahi sandwich that's delicious but really expensive so I rarely get it.

Personally I don't eat the fish I catch, probably because I don't have anything to transport them home with, but if it's from a restaurant, then I'd say Yellow Perch, Panfish, Walleye, and

whitefish are tasty. Yet to try bass, but I've heard that they aren't as good as other fish.

I only eat 2 kind's of fish these days. Salmon, and red snapper used in fish tacos.

Use to be a big trout eater, cooked em the dishwasher, now days it's hard to find any good size Cold water trout.

I don't really care for fish. I will eat it, but not with regularity. My favorite (and probably the only that I truly like) is filet size bluegill/bream/goggle eye (war mouth, rock bass, whatever you call them). Next is crappie and then bass. I don't like white bass or catfish. Its funny, catfish is king around here everyone loves them but me.

Something I didn't realize until just a few years back is how regional this really is. A guy moved down here from WI and we were talking about fishing. I mentioned that I don't really eat much fish and he says to me "can you believe people down here eat catfish, they love them". I laughed and asked what he did with them up in WI, he replied "throw them in a ditch!". A lot of people made fun of him for that, I wasn't one of them. He did eventually decide that he liked catfish though.

Here in MO it isn’t legal to give fish away unless you are done for the day.

I've never checked into it but I think Kansas has something similar but it only applies to fish that are filleted.

I enjoy catching walleye and crappie when they're good sized, and the only way for them to get bigger is to make it back in the water to keep growing. I gave away a 5lb channel cat last summer, but Kansas stocks so dang many catfish in all the lakes they're almost a nuisance in some of them, especially when they feed them on top of stocking them.

Sometimes in the spring we’ll keep a couple smaller pike, but nowadays it’s mostly trout and salmon from Georgian Bay. Nothing tastier than a fresh fish out of the deep, cold, blue water of the bay.

I eat quite a bit, except for bass lol.  Walleye, perch, burbot, pike, trout, salmon, crappie, and bluegills.  Burbot is especially good and very few people are aware of how tasty this "trash" fish really is.  Deep fried, it's like the deep fried cod you'd get from a restaurant, and when boiled, it has a lobster like flavor and texture.  Burbot is very closely related to cod.  We catch them from the piers in the Great Lakes from late October into early December fishing live and dead bait off the bottom.  There is no limit, so it's very easy to fill a freezer.

Mostly saltwater. Grouper, snapper, tilefish, mahi. Any of the "white meat" fish. I'll also eat all the usual freshwater catch that's big enough to fillet. Crappie, bass, stripers/white bass/whiteperch, catfish. I usually throw them back because I don't enjoy cleaning them. I like to maximize my free time for fishing. My family also won't eat most freshwater fish with the exception of crappie. That means when I cook them, I have a lot to eat by myself. Nobody wants leftover fish.

I listed the fish I prefer to eat, but oddly, I don't love eating fish. I never buy it, I don't order it in restaurants.  I'll eat fish, but usually if there's nothing else to eat.  I keep thinking I should eat more fish, but I never quite get around to it.  I live in NY, and if you read the Fish Health Advisories put out by the state, you'd never want to eat fish again.

Strangely, I do like sushi occasionally.  I always disdained it, believing it to be pretentious food for pretentious people.  But once I tried it, I found I really liked it.

But I do love seafood, except for fish.

Crappie, walleye, trout.  Though I'll eat just about anything you put in front of me.  But as far as eating what I catch, that's about it.  I'll add catfish to that list if it came from pretty clear water, which is hard to find around here.  Otherwise, they tend to taste pretty muddy.

Now if we added saltwater fish, the list would go on for miles.

I don't have a smoker. I'd like one, but I have limited space.

I like crappie, bass, bream, and channel catfish. Also most saltwater fish I've tried. Walleye are good too.

King salmon, steelhead, yellowtail, and Dungeness crab.

X2 on the Dungeness crab @bish0p! For those in Blue crab country, a Dungeness crab weighs about 2-3 pounds and it’s sweet, buttery meat. And I gotta say I’m looking forward to the commercial season opening up soon after another delay. And I didn’t even want to bring up razor clam chowder, oysters, or a big kettle of steamers...

You just described my childhood. Pismo in the morning for clam digging before heading to the pier to catch my limit, then on to Morro Bay to drop a crab net.

I like catfish caught in clean water.

I hate seafood of all varieties and it is endlessly tiring to explain that i fish and don't eat fish.

I'm hoping to ice fish some stocked trout lakes in which case I'd like to keep a few for family that likes fish and my dog. Would like to learn how to process a fish.

Crappie and bass for sure. Bass po' boy is bomb

Crappie will ruin a good bass pond so they always end up in the fryer. Usually 1lb to 2lb bass get the fryer as well, good management is key to great fisheries and selected harvest is preferred way. Select harvest straight to the fryer

I don’t eat fish fresh or saltwater. I’ve tried it occasionally over the years just can’t seem to get into it.

My bass fishing has been catch and release only giving away a fish on those rare time one has a problem surviving.

I’ve had numerous requests for bluegills over the years. On those times I try to bring someone with me because than I can give the requester 100 of them. Pretty nice amount of Gills.

Trouts, rainbow, browns and brook I try to feed the troops with them. My family and friends look forward to them. There was a gal at work the other year who was going through some tuff times and she and her kids loved them. I wasn’t counting but she claims I gave her 80+ trout. I like fishing? they like eating. I dress the fish to boot before giving them away.

I think it is great you guy enjoy them.

People crack me up. “You can’t fish there, the water is too polluted to eat the fish.” It’s like the thought of catching fish for fun never crossed their mind

I bet a lot of people that do not like eating freshwater fish would love eating freshly caught snapper or any other quality saltwater fish. Getting a fish in a store is not the same as catching it yourself.
