Hi Everyone,

I am looking to pick up the new Zodias spinning rod with the  Carbon Monocoque handle, I intended to get the 6,9 M but I am hearing its more like a MH and the the ML is more like M. Anyone have any experience or info they could share about the new Zodias spinning rods is greatly appreciated.

I had the 6'9 M and sent it back to TW to exchange it for the ML. I never fished with it but it definitely felt like a MH

It seems like the new Zodias rods are overpowered from their listings, I think I will go with the ML rated rod with the hopes it can serve as a M rated rod. Thanks.

My experience with the Zodias line goes as far as is holding them in stores. I'm not sure if they had either model in question, but they all felt like they ran quite a bit heavier than the rating. The 7'2" MH casting rod looks like a pretty sweet jig rod as a result.

If you are looking for an all around sort of spinning rod, I would definitely go with the ML.

I have the 6'9" ML. I think the lure rating is right feeling, but the line weight doesn't feel like a 4-8lb rod. I think it feels more like a 6-10 or 12lb rating. Slightly heavier than other ML rods I have. Great rod though. Versatile.

I have several 2020 Zodias Rods. They are definitely rated much lighter than they are. Mediums feel like other Heavies. I have 7'2" MH and H casting  and they have little to no bend. Just got a 7'2" Light and its what other Mediums are. Love the rods though.

I have a 7' Light and Medium Light spinning. Both are perfect for the intended use. I had a Medium and returned it as it was too stiff.

For contrast to G. Loomis, the 7' Zodias Light is slightly heavier than the E6X 821SYR and the 7' Zodias Medium Light is just slightly heavier than the E6X 822SYR.

I absolutely LOVE the 7' Medium Light.

Thanks for the info on this, great help. I think I'm going to try the ML for a dedicated weightless Senko rod.

Bumping this to the top. I'm still trying to decide on this rod.

Anyone have any new info or thoughts on the 2020 Zodias.

I'll be using it as a dedicate Senko rod, only 4" or 5" Senkos, rigged weightless or wacky rigged.

I don't want to order the ML and it not be enough. I'm coming from a 68 MXF Avid X that I liked all but the reel seat was uncomfortable. I'd like the 68 MXF Expride but having a hard time finding one in stock.

I have both a ML and M Zodias casting 2015 models.  The ML is awesome for 4 inch senkos and the M is awesome for 5 inch senkos.  I would go ML if the heaviest I would throw is a weightless 5 inch senko.  Is use my ML for 4 inch weightless weedless and flick shakes on 1/16 oz heads.  I've throw weightless 5 inche senkos and it gets the jog done but I prefer a M powered rod.

Thanks, yeah 90% of the time I'll have a 5" Senko tied on.

Get the medium if gen 2 is anything like my gen 1.  They run a little beefy for a M but not quite a normal MH IMO and I throw a 5 inch senko weightless on a MH Orochi xx gen 1 EMTF as the lightest bait I use.  My 72M Zodias casting has been excellent with 5 inch senkos and senko copies.  Easily one of my favorite workhorse rigs.

Well, my local tackle shop ended up having one in stock but it was the 7M, so I got to handle it in person. Unfortunately they didn't have a ML in stock so I couldn't compare.

But I will say the Medium for me feels like a MH, very stiff. I'm going to hold off on purchasing until I can handle a ML and compare.
