I purchased four BASS MAFIA BAIT COFFIN 3700s for terminal tackle storage (note, not the Terminal Coffin, just the std 3700 Coffin).  Most expensive tackle storage I've ever purchased.

The good news is that it is also the best terminal storage I've found.  SMALL hooks do sometimes "migrate" between dividers.  But, overall, I've never found a better solution.

The bad news?  Every single one of them has now broken.  Mostly hinges (which I've taken the time to replace after purchasing replacements from BM) but also the "arms" on the lids that hold the hinges.  These cannot be repaired.  I don't know if I got a "bad batch" or something but this is just unacceptable.  Especially at this PREMIUM price.  Yes, I've reached-out to BM.  After several attempts to reach someone I was told that they're out of warranty and there's nothing they're willing to do.

I do NOT abuse my tackle.  In fact, I own several DOZEN Plano Stowaway 3700s.  I've had ONE of those fail in the same time period and that is because it took an untimely jump from my deck onto the garage floor below).

So, my question...  Is there another good terminal tackle storage solution on the market the y'all have been using - ideally in a "3700" size?  My Plano Stowaway 3700s are great for everything BUT terminal tackle because of migration between compartments.  VERY eager for feedback/input.

I've got the BPS 370 box for my terminal tackle. Lots more possible compartments than the Plano 3700 (46 vs 24). I've not had 'migration' issues with it as the dividers seem to seal down quite well. To get this many compartments, need to buy 2 boxes as like with several Plano boxes, they don't supply enough dividers to make all the possible compartments and they don't offer 'spare' dividers.

Try using a glue gun to attach a piece of shelving material to the inside of the lid. I used the corrugated shelving material. It’s worked for me. Sometimes stuff will catch on it, but a tap before opening helps with that.

I put the same liner on the lid of one of my 3700 bass mafia coffins I use for terminal tackle. I've been using them for years and years and have not had a single failure /w the boxes.

Plano has the Edge terminal tackle box, which I have and really like!

They also have the Flex series that's extremely configurable. I just got a couple and am looking forward to using them:

Where did you get the containers for the CPS and beads? Craft store? What size are they?

I use to work at a place that did electronics assembly. Those little pop-top containers held crimp-pins for contacts.

They usually just tossed the containers in the trash...I hauled a bunch of them home. They're 1.5" tall, 1" diameter at the cap.

@5/0 - or anyone else. Found a place that has near the same item. 1-7/16 high, 7/8 diameter with a pop-top (9ml size). $0.17 each for small quantities.

Shelving material?  I'm not sure what you're describing.

Did you take that pic?  Is that your Edge Terminal box?  You should do that for a living?  Looks pro!  I'm definitely leaning toward the Plano Edge.  Do you have any complaints at all about it?

I had two of the bass mafia fancy plastic bags. I had the zip lock/zipper fail on both of them with in a few months. Contacted them two times, never heard back from them.

I'm done with them.

If I put all my terminal tackle in one box, it’s all rusted sooner or later. I keep them in their original packaging so I can only ruin 10-12 hooks at a time haha

Sorry for the confusion, I was referring to shelf lining. Pic above how I did mine.

Count me in as another Plano Edge vote.  I thought the Terminal box was gonna be fussy at first, but after just one time out with it, I really like it.  I won't go back to plain utility boxes, and will only be adding to my Edge collection (I have 6 boxes now).  I really resisted the whole high end tackle storage thing, but Plano got it right with these.

I don't carry 3 yrs. worth of terminal tackle on my boat, so i get by using a 360 sized box. I got  a 100 pk. of poly  zip-lok  bags  (2" x 3") for under $2 (Netcraft) that i put my hooks, swivels, snaps, hitch-hikers, etc. in, it works for me. The only rusty hooks i get is because of not taking off that salty soft plastic at the end of the day. I ain't fancy...

My terminal tackle storage 'plan' is a little different and designed to meet a specific need.

I prefer to have a decent assortment & inventory with me on the water.

(might even be 3 years worth @detroit1  )

Either way, it looks like this

I had a hinge on a couple week old BM 3700 break on me. I wrote BM and they sent me new hinges and I haven't had another problem.

I am however slowly moving away from the Bass Mafia boxes, not because I've had issues with them not holding up but because they are a little bit larger and thus difficult to get in and out of the Black Pak on my kayak. I picked up the Plano Edge jig box which holds a lot more jigs.

Agree 100%. I switched out all my boxes to Plano edges. They are definitely the real deal.
