 Years ago while fishing on my  Hydra Sport about 30 miles East of Jacksonville. I was respectively boarded for a "Safety inspection and paperwork" after 0 violations were noted I asked the Senior " Why in this day and age do I still need a bucket? with two bilge pumps and a self bailing deck? His reply " Son, there is no bilge pump in the world that can keep up with a scared man and a bucket"  From that point forward I got it. LOL

Well, there’s still ice on the lakes here, but today was one of the most wonderful days of the year. The day the boat gets pulled out of hibernation at my shop and gets brought down to the house garage to start prepping for the season. 
Have a couple things to adjust, and gonna give the Suzuki a new impeller change, and then vacuum and clean everything and load her up!

By the looks of the forecast for here, I’d say ( with fingers crossed of course), that I’m looking at about 6 more days and a wake up ?.

Ran an errand today and the ice on Tonka is getting dark. Might beat my prediction of the 12th by a bit.

 

Just a couple things left on the canoe, spool up the BCs and I'm ready to go - though I gotta wait until 5/15 before I can target bass.

I’ve been ice free for a week or so now and I’ve yet to get the boat wet or really do much organizing of the recently purchased gear, I’ve been too dam busy with testing for work.

The recent and most welcome warm spring like weather has got me thinking about mornings like this again ~  Who am I kidding, I'm always thinking about this !

But it could come a bit earlier which wouldn't hurt my feelings any.

With so little snow this winter, (just about half the average) the lake level seems a little low.

And even though local Lake Menderchuck is still locked up,

there's water on the ice at the north end !!!!!!

I may be fishing in MARCH;

which would be a first for me.

Either way, looks like this might all happen a bit earlier than I expected

so I need to get my poop in a group

ASAP !

Good to see you’re making progress.
 

I’m still trying to get my poop in a group! Work has thrown a giant wrench in that progress, along with the nice days and the wife wanting to get things cleaned up outside. I guess that frees up time in the future when the bass are a little more active.

This type of stuff can be very beneficial in helping to meet the needs of this basshead ~

Even though the the forecast ahead calls for the somewhat dreaded 

'wintery mix' (which could be flurries or a foot of snow ?) 

I'll take the current rain and moderate air temps for now. 

You do know this is therapy for me right ?

Just one more thing to do and the canoe is ready for the water...then just have to spool up the BCs, but I'm ready for panfish with the spinners now.
