Awesome! But....... if it’s the second DD this week........... let’s see the first one too!  Sounds like you’re on em!

Not the second one this week, second in my life.  My first DD was my PB, a 12lb 8oz.  Pics of it are on my IG account.

Nice double digit, all those long hours, days weeks months and years asking yourself "What the heck am I doing with my life" tend to feel awful justified when you get one like that huh?

Yes sir!  The glory/satisfaction/reward for me is in the big ones, not the numbers!  The DD fish are in a category of their own imo, they seem to be so much bigger once they reach that DD mark, almost like a totally different animal/fish!

Most of the guys aren't from Tennessee.  You can't expect them to catch a DD every week.

That's for sure

In fact, you can't expect guys in Florida to catch a DD every year, let alone every week.

I know just because you live in CA, TX or FL you don't catch DD's every week.  I was saying that DD's are more frequent/plentiful in those states and more common...

Amazing catch.  The only DD I see around here in California are another type :)

Congrats! My chances have drastically lowered after moving to the North.  This will make for an awesome replica.

Don't hold out on us. Give us details. What lure did you use?

My guess would be a fishing lure ?.

Great fish but even better right at the boat.  Even a small bass right at the boat can cause the heart to skip let alone a DD bass.

I’ve thought about smearing coyote lure on a plastic worm before..........

Ain’t that the truth! I had a striper grab a top water boat side and nearly fainted. Had it been a 10 lb largemouth, I think I would literally kill over dead

Congratulations she is a beauty! From what I researched Tennessee is one of the best places in the country to catch a double digit bass after California, Texas, Georgia, and Florida.

Sounds accurate, although LA MS and AL have a bunch of them too

Not common, but possible. The biggest weighed fish caught in one of my local public

ponds was a whopping 11.98.

The Southern States are well known for having double digit bass. For some reason Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama are not mentioned as much as the big 4 (Florida, Georgia, Texas, and California). Lake Chickamauga is loaded with 8 pound or better fish. Have fished in Tennessee it is nice but I prefer Florida, Georgia, and Alabama for bass fishing and for multi species fishing.

For smallmouth, Tennessee ROCKS! World Record 11lbs 15 oz. at Dale Hollow.

We catch double digit largemouth here occasionally. Our state record is 15.2 lbs

caught fairly recently.

Nice 'lunkah'!

======================

I had a Lake Fork PIG take a swipe at a buzz bait right as I was going to lift it out of the water. Maybe the biggest mouth I've ever seen on a bass. I audibly gasped and reflexively yanked hard enough that the bait shot over the rail and embedded the hook in the side of a partner's shoe. We were fishing with 20 lb mono and drags locked down hard because of the timber we were fishing (picture dragging buzzbaits through two to four pockets over floating timber on each cast) I can't imagine the battle that would have ensued with that fish on the end of such of a short leash, but it would have been fun to find out.

That's my goal, to bust the TN largemouth record.  Or at least get a 13lb+.

The biggest fish that I know of at Pickwick was caught a few years ago on a Friday

pre-fishing for a club tournament. The bass weighed 11.98 and was caught on an A-rig,

of course. But there is more to the story...

On Saturday, tournament day, the older gentleman was telling his story to his partner

when all of a sudden...WAM!  Exactly the same spot with the same rig and soft plastic.

Crazy.

Although several lakes around the state have produced double digits, Chick is probably

the only one capable of breaking it's own record. You guys stocked Florida strain bass

several years ago and it worked!
