I was looking at the diameter charts and it looks like Gold Label's diameter is the same as the next pound rating down of Blue Label, so that's cool.

I just received some of the Gold Label and it is very thin.  I would say it closer in diameter to 8lb or even 6lb YoZuri Hybrid.  Definitely way thinner than the 12lb equivalent in either Tatsu or Invizx.  It seems really tough but soft.  We will see how the knot strength holds up when I attach it to some braid.

I was using just regular 8# and 10# red label. Broke off a good bit with the 8#. Hardly ever with the 10#.

10# Gold seems to be as strong as 10# but at 8# diameter.

I am now making the switch to straight 8# Tatsu. Really liking the straight FC on a 2000 size reel. The Tatsu seems to be as strlng as the 10# red label, but very supple and impressive low memory.

You do the math and leader material is just much more expensive. Tatsu is 30ish bucks for 200 yds. Leader wheels are 15ish for 25.

Im sure gold is great and may end up trying it, but tatsu is probably just as good for half the price.

Tatsu will be just fine, but the Gold is a different animal. Give it a one time try and see

what you think. It's on sale right now.

Good to know.  I just bought this very line in 6 lb and 8lb test.

I have always used Red Label as a leader and I have never had any issues breaking the line at the hook or in the leader, but I have had a very break offs at the connection knot.  I haven't become proficient with the FG knot, so I have tied a few knots from G Swindle and Shaw Grisby, that are pretty good, but I have had a few break offs the past year.   I have some gold on the way and I have used Tatsu as a leader, but have always seemed to find my way back to Red Label.   Regardless, Seaguar Floro is my go to Floro.
