Super User Jigfishn10 Posted December 4, 2020 Super User Posted December 4, 2020 Today is about 60* and my car automatically, for whatever reason, switched to air conditioning mode. Tonight we have a nor'easter coming our way with about 6" plus of the white fluffy stuff. Thankfully, being a true New Englander, my snow brush is in my car ready to go from last season. ? 1 Quote
PourMyOwn Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 We are projected to get 4-8" here. When I walked out back after lunch (working remotely all week) I saw a bunch of birds, three huge squirrels and they were all eating. They know the snow's coming. 1 Quote

DanielG Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 12" or more possibly up to 16" here in Southern Maine. Maybe heavy stuff. A wide area of southern/central Maine expected to have power out. I've got a dual fuel generator for the pellet stove and TV/internet. I'd just as soon have a couple feet of the fluffy stuff but I'll take what I can get. 10hp blower primed and pointed out the garage. Ready for it... WooHoo!!! Been waiting for this for awhile. 1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted December 5, 2020 Author Super User Posted December 5, 2020 Where in southern Maine? I have a house in K-Port, can you go see if she’s still standing? I have a feeling this isn’t gonna be light fluffy stuff. ? Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted December 5, 2020 Super User Posted December 5, 2020 South Florida recently had temperatures in the high 40s-low 50's which is the lowest temperatures since the beginning of the year. From what I researched this has been a cold Winter so far for many states. This is the time of year where snowbirds start traveling to Florida for fishing and I can't blame them since few people enjoy fishing in less than 40 degree weather. 1 Quote
jbmaine Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 I'm 5 miles in from the coast in real Southern Maine and as of this moment it's pouring rain. It's supposed to change to snow tonight with 5-7 " expected. The snowblower is on the tractor, plenty of gas for the genny. I guess I'm ready to go. 1 Quote
jbmaine Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 They keep upping our forecast. As of 2:37 PM ( just outside of Kittery) we are up to a possible 14" of the white stuff. 1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted December 5, 2020 Author Super User Posted December 5, 2020 We were supposed to get the tail end of the snow tonight but it’s switching to a wintery mix now Good luck to you all in the North Country Quote

Ya, it's coming down very wet. 2 hours ago, jbmaine said: They keep upping our forecast. As of 2:37 PM ( just outside of Kittery) we are up to a possible 14" of the white stuff. I usually enjoy the snow, but I'm not really a fan of the rain snow mix. When we were kids it just snowed. I miss that. 1 Quote

jbmaine Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Well, this was a bust. We ended up with about 2" of frozen slushy white stuff. 1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted December 6, 2020 Author Super User Posted December 6, 2020 Yep, nothing to speak of here. Driveway is clear, just gotta push some snow off the car. If anything, I have to drain my pool again and redo the Xmas decorations from the wind and rain. Boy, they better not say we’re still in drought conditions. Quote

At times the snow would come down and pile up, then switch over to flooding rain. The winds were pretty strong throughout. I have to chase the trash barrels today as well, forgot to tie those up. ? 1 Quote
