Unsure of what this lure is. It is very light and seems to be wood maybe a balsa?

My first guess is some sort of bagley because of the eye and the general well done paint.

I have one like that,  I thought it came from Mann's but not sure.  Should be put ahead of a large topwater.

Yep, or some type floating foam mold. Never tore one apart. Floats ahead of the topwater bait. Makes it look like something chasing it. War Eagle made one also, or bought Norman’s design since it had the same name. Might be other similar baits. They were popular for a while.

I've tried that bait in front of a variety of poppers and a Lucky Craft Sammy.  Zero results.   I've taken the front runner out of the equation using both poppers & the Sammy and got bit.  Don't know why.  Seems like a good idea.

I got a few left. I put it in front of a Crazy Shad when bass are schooling on top, catch 2 at a time.
