Super User DitchPanda Posted December 2, 2020 Super User Posted December 2, 2020 Talking specifically about line for square bills and 1/2oz lipless. What is your line of choice? Over the years I've tried lots of different things and haven't found the one yet Quote

Super User MN Fisher Posted December 2, 2020 Super User Posted December 2, 2020 I'm different - this is what I have on my crank-rig and I've been happy with it. 4 Quote

Super User DitchPanda Posted December 2, 2020 Author Super User Posted December 2, 2020 What are the benefits of fluoro for cranking? Sensitivity and invisibility seem to be the big benefits of fluoro neither of which would matter much with a moving bait in my mind Quote

I’d argue none, and it makes life as a fluoro user easier because it allows for consistency across all my casting outfits, and lets any outfit (or reel) in my arsenal to act as a surrogate for some other technique or rod. 3 Quote
garroyo130 Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 For 2.5's and 1/2 traps I throw 15lb yo zuri hybrid For 1.5's I throw 10lb yo zuri hybrid Quote

I guess if you were switching the reel from rod to rod there wouldn't be alot of negative. I have dedicated reels for cranking so for me the negative would be cost of fluoro. Quote
Super User jimmyjoe Posted December 2, 2020 Super User Posted December 2, 2020 I have a Curado 70 with 12 lb. InvizX on it. The rod is my smaller crankbait rod; a M/MF. I'm a firm believer that for all the different lines out there, there is one particular line that will perform the best on a particular reel. That InvizX at 12 lb. really matches the Curado 70, and the feel of squarebills hitting riprap is hard for me to explain ..... but I definitely like it. The other thing is that I use this setup for 1/2 oz. Mepps spinners. Fluorocarbon seems to resist twist better than nylon, and MUCH better than braid. So I get two ..... two ..... two mints in one! ??? JJ Quote

Super User FishTank Posted December 2, 2020 Super User Posted December 2, 2020 I have tried several and this has been my favorite. I have yet to find it's equal for crankbaits. 1 Quote

Not certain you could get that using anything nylon based. Most people change at least yearly, if not more frequently. The repeated moisture absorption and drying out tends to play havoc on nylon based lines. Several times of respooling, even if just yearly, would about negate any cost disadvantage of a single spool/filling of fluoro. 2 Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted December 3, 2020 Super User Posted December 3, 2020 I really like Sunline FC crank. Very similar to Sunline Reaction. Great stuff for my shallow squarebills and flatsides. Quote
Born 2 fish Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 I started using suffix siege and absolutely love it don’t look at lb look at diameter. Go 1/2 oz lipless I use 14 lb for jerkbaits 10lb. 1 Quote
