Well, we can't catch 50 or 100 per day, but our brown fish tend to be big.

And that's why I am buying a place up north but will be taking a long trip down to Tennessee every November and March.

Getting on track with the thread, I was sharing the water with KVD a couple years ago on my favorite water up north.  He had a video boat with him the 2nd day.  Yes, it was smallmouth country.

If you need a KVD+Largemouth fix, here is 4 hours of KVD with Mark Zona fishing specifically for springtime Largemouth in Michigan:

That was an excellent show, with some unbelievable largemouth for Michigan.

Lake Menderchuck is awesome for smallmouth bass. I prefer a place I fish that I named ''Jurassic Park''. Lol

They fight too hard.

Hook into a decent sized peacock bass and you will never see a smallmouth bass the same again.

That and the one with Davy Hite where they go up the canal inlet...the fish weren't as big, but there were a lot of them.  I don't know how many times I've put those shows on again to play in the background while working, especially over the winter.

Ahh yes the Davey Hite one I watched a couple months ago while scarfing down a little lunch. There must be some pretty fertile lakes in the Kzoo area.

One of these days I’d like to venture down and fish Zona’s lake he lives on, I guess there are some decent smallmouth in there.

For someone as accomplished and arguably the G.O.A.T of pro-level tournament bass fishing, he comes off as genuine, and not someone pushing his sponsors gear out of obligation, but because he believes in it. You can't fake that, and it's transparent if you do (cough....ike...cough)

Of the handful of pro fisherman I have met, they have all been nice approachable guys, even KVD. He took time to just "shoot the breeze" with me once, and goof around with my kids a little. That's extremely rare for someone with as much "fame" in their craft to do. He's hard to not route for.

Oh, it's out there.

That access road can be a little tricky to find though.

Keep Looking . . . . .

Mullett Lake near Gaylord, Michigan is known for having good smallmouth bass fishing. I am sure there are many lakes that are  ''Lake MenderChuck'' in Northern Michigan.

Mullett lake has gone downhill over the years. Good walleye fishing though!

I read a couple recent reports from Mullett Lake where they say the fishing is very good. Tubes and jerkbaits are good lure choices during the Fall.

You are correct Sir.

In fact it's something like 20 lakes over 3,000 acres in surface area and dozens smaller within a 60-mile radius.

 So there's Lake Menderchuck North,

South, East and of course, West.

Either way any local eye can certainly recognize them,

and obviously I'm fine with that.

Just having a little fun with it that's all.

I know since I like having a little fun naming some of the places I fish as well. I have had days my top 5 largemouth bass where over 115 inches combined length in a place I call ''Jurassic Park''. That place has lots of big alligators so you have to keep an eye on them constantly. With that said you still need to know what you are doing so not everyone will have the same results you and I have on Lake MenderChuck and Jurassic Park.

Sneaky Lake has been on fire the past couple years up that way.

Since I live in the same town as him, I was in this fishing camp, and we went to his house with his backyard pond for the last day of the camp. He was nice, and he gave out zebco 33's and signed the reel. (That reel cover is faded now☹️.) I caught a 3 1/2-pounder there! (For me anything over 3 pounds is a big fish)
