Big Hands Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 Excellent all-around list for those that want to cover a lot of bases with a handful of rods. Once people get some experience, they can figure out where to go from there if they really want to specialize in a particular niche technique. Quote
Sphynx Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 I generally carry a 6 rod rotation, and it does change a bit based on circumstances, but mostly that's a 6'8"MXF jerkbait rod on the smaller end, and the 7'11" HF swimbait/a-rig rod on the other, other than that my lineup includes all the noted rods, with the only exception being I prefer a 2 crankbait rod selection, M and a MH, good stuff otherwise, thanks for sharing. 1 Quote

I liked his list. The only one in would add is a jerkbait rod. Doesnt have to be jerkbait specific, but a rod that can cover that and alot of lighter baits. 1 Quote

I don't like jerkbaits unless it's on my rod, I guess everybody has their eccentricities, and that's one of mine, otherwise he's got an extremely versatile list, and any time you have to limit yourself, versatility becomes even more important Quote

I use my jerkbait rods for a lot of things other than jerkbaits, but a jerkbait is also part of what I do well Quote

I will sometimes take up to 8 rods because I might want different baits of the same type tied on. Then there are times, like right now, that I only take 3 rods. Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted February 23, 2021 Posted February 23, 2021 I always enjoying seeing what peoples “lists” would be when it come to fishing. As James said, this is a list for where he is from and where he fishes. My list would probably have 3 or 4 spinning rods, because I fish the Great Lakes mostly. I just love the variety in fishing. Justbass11 Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 Thank you for taking the time to go over the 5 rods to have, it was most useful. Quote
