I've been seeing a lot of posts on social media about Piscifun reels. How do they stack up against the likes of ABU Garcia, Daiwa, and Lew's?

I have a Piscufun Alijos 300. It's fine, though the spool doesn't turn great so the casting distance is leaving some things to be desired. After tearing it down and inspecting it, I didn't see a difference between the lower priced offerings by name brands. They're probably all made in the same factories, lol.

Many thanks!! Like I said, I was curious. It'll take something really special to replace my Daiwa Exceller LT 2500HD in that price range!

I own three different models a Saex elite no longer available on Piscifun site but available at Ali Express same reel different colors as Ardent elite with Piscifun having dual brakes. Been using it for 4 years and it has been a solid reel so far with no issues. Bought 2 carbon x spinning reels this year a 1000 & 2000 size and I find them slightly larger than comparable Daiwa reels more like a 1500 & 2500 which is not an issue as they are light weight, not enough time on them but pleased overall with my purchase. Lastly I purchased a Spark (standard) this year also and I personally am having a hard time finding a rod to use it with. Bought it to use with small crankbaits (rapala style stick baits maybe small square bills)but cannot seem to get a good pairing with it as of yet. I have and use Several other well known  brands and would second what Bait Finesse said. Not horrible but you get what you’re paying for.

For me it comes down to one of three brands depending.

Baitcasters - Pflueger or Diawa

Spinning - Plueger or Mitchell (the two I've been using since the late 60s)

They get their fair share of love for the entry-level fly fishing reels they make. Granted a lot less parts on those but it says something about the company i guess?

A friend of mine guides for a living and uses them for his clients and does well, but he still uses Shimano reels for his personal reels so take that fwiw.
