Correct me if I'm wrong people who have built the G2's but my understanding is that they sleeve into the hollow open ends of the exterior handle parts giving the end parts stability and protection.

But those EVA end caps are absolute trash.  Not even close to matching the OD of the grip.

 

I'm going to toss them and turn acrylic caps to fit the couple sets I bought

Mine fit fine after reaming.

Reaming won't fix the mismatched OD.  I could sand it to match, but it's think the EVA is a tacky look to finish off a nice carbon grip.

 

 

 

And the butt cap tenon is undersized, so it's a sloppy fit.

When it's all put together on the blank and it's smooshed (industry term) it kind of just works. At least it did for me. I had to ream out the right amount so it wouldn't be forcibly over or under expanded.

I think the carbon grips on my black widows are classy.  Don' t know if Edge/nfc sells these though.

See, I actually like that pattern. No, that pattern isn't available for the general public to my knowledge.

Edge used to sell the black widow grip, it's hand laid at the shop out of the same material they make the blanks out of, it was like 3 times the price of the commercial stuff. Have you looked at the 12 k tube at Thrasher? They have a variety of patterns.

I put in Thrasher 12 k tube like you wrote which was unsuccessful. Thrasher composite handles worked though.

Good there appears to be some tapered stuff that I didn't see before.
