Hi,

I just purchased a Lowrance X96.  I am going to install it on my 15'-6" Lowe Jon that I've modified for Bass fishing w/ a casting deck.  I'm going to install the unit on what would be the middle bench, which is now the rear end of my casting deck.  That way, I can spin the unit and drive around, and then spin it back to fish from the front.  What I'm wondering is if I can hook up another transducer and mount it on the trolling motor for use while fishing from the front?  Would I have to unplug the rear ducer and plug in the front one when I stop to fish?  Could plugging and unplugging cause damage to the unit?

Thanks,

Matt

Not sure if a switch is offered for that specific unit, but some of the older units had the option to install a switch that would allow the use of two transducers. Check with LEI, Inc., they can tell you if one is available.

FYI, I have one of those units on my boat. You will like it. Very detailed information.

The switch is not listed as a option for that model on the LEI Extras site. If you want to change the connections often, use some di-electric grease on the plugs to lessen the effort and reduce the chance of damaging the pins on the unit plug receptacle.
