Sphynx Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 I think it's magic, the ordinary, every day sort of magic which makes it worth exploring that which is unexplained. Quote

The real story here is that you had time to fish on your wedding day AND that you brought fishing gear with you to the wedding venue? 2 1 Quote

They catch a fish and accidentally drop it in another nearby body of water? I don’t see that happening often. The roe attach to their feet? Still leaves the question of how they get fertilized, unless they already are. Are other animals like turtles, waterfowl and beavers the couriers of these fertilized eggs? Even then that seems unlikely to populate literally every freshwater stream, pond and ditch on earth. How does it happen? That's a really question about the eggs. Ive never heard anyone ask that and I wish I had thought of it lol. I think the eggs are already fertilized before they come into contact with the bird. Otherwise I don't see how they could hatch. There is a tiny pond, about half the size of an Olympic sized swimming pool. Since I started fishing it about 10 years ago there only bass, catfish and a few kinds of sunnys. 2 years ago I started catching small pickerel about 6-8". In just 2 years they went from rare to difficult to avoid. Quote

mikey z Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 So does this mean I should toss some baits in a couple man-made ponds less than an acre in size scooped out during construction of a highway overpass about 2 years ago? 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 10, 2020 Super User Posted December 10, 2020 No, not unless they were stocked, which is unlikely. Quote

DanielG Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 Where do fish come from? Is that the question? Well, there are two fish, okay. One is a boy and the other a girl... .and.... oh never mind. Quote
