Does anyone here use Stren Magnethin, especially 8 or 10 lb. test? If you do, 1) how has the knot strength been, poor or average or great? 2) Has it been consistent? Also, 3) how well does it feed off a spinning reel?

   Thanks for your help.    jj

I’ve used it for 25 years on spinning reels.   It works great due to its smaller diameter.  Abrasion resistance is a problem so you have to keep an eye on the condition of the line and knots.  It appears to me to be identical to Sunline Supernatural and I buy whichever is cheaper.

I haven't in the last couple of years and and the line itself is no reason why not now..  A few years a go it was all I used for maybe 5-6 years and always liked it and never had a problem with it, but I guess flourocarbon nudged it aside.

For those that might be searching for this line, it is spelled with an "a".

I recognize the picture but not the name. Never used this stuff, I don't see it very often around here.

I've used it in 4 lb. test, and that was good. But I've never used it in 8 or 10 lb. test on a spinning reel, and I don't know anyone who has. Just because the 4 fed well doesn't mean that the 10 will feed well.  jj

I used to use that stuff on my ultralights many years ago, never had a problem with it.  I liked to use Stren Original on my bigger bass and walleye rigs back then because it was more abrasion resistant.
