Super User soflabasser Posted November 19, 2020 Super User Posted November 19, 2020 My favorite time to fish is whenever I have the time to go fishing. 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted November 19, 2020 Super User Posted November 19, 2020 Fishing weed mats on a hot summer day. Just enough wind to keep the mosquitoes away, and hot enough to keep the crowds at home. Quote
papajoe222 Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 If I had to choose, it would be summertime. The fish are more predictable, not only in their location, but in their activity level. It isn't only a numbers game. The majority of my big fish have been caught in July, including my two biggest. Both were caught between 10:00AM and noon. 1 Quote
keagbassr Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 Definitely summer for me. July thru mid Sept. Not only does the heat and thick weeds keep people off the water but as @papajoe222 said in a word 'predictable'. The bass will either be on the Weed edge chasing or buried up waiting for a meal.to come to them which means I can hit the water fairly confident I can get them on a buzzbait ,frog,or punch rig. Super User Boomstick Posted November 21, 2020 Super User Posted November 21, 2020 August because I've caught my three best bass in the month of August and it's not too brutally hot and the weeds are still there and effective if I choose to target them in weeds. Quote
Yakalong Posted November 21, 2020 Posted November 21, 2020 I'll fish anytime, but spring in mid May seems to be the best for me. Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted November 21, 2020 Super User Posted November 21, 2020 Anytime, I really do not have a favorite, I do however like to fish my home lake better when the pleasure boats are hibernating but anytime is a great time to fish for what I like best. Quote
GetFishorDieTryin Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Mid-late fall and late winter just as the water gets about 46 or 47 the fish start to feed real heavy as they transition from the winter pattern to prespawn. I have the water mostly to myself and Ive known the few people who fish that early for years. If its got to be one condition, it would have to be just as the rain or snow starts to fall and the pressure is still dropping from an approaching storm in late winter-early spring depending on when the water temp gets in the high 40s. The fish are aggressively feeding and they are close to if not at the heaviest they will be all year. The bladed jig becomes such a versatile and effective bait for big fish and numbers alike. Quote
