5/0 Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 I know there are waterproof bags on the market, but my older bag is still in good shape. As a backseat I bungee my bag to the rear pedestal for easy access when fishing. Have any of you used waterproofing sprays on your bags? If so, what brand? Thanks Joe Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted November 10, 2020 Super User Posted November 10, 2020 Lot’s of products out there, but I’d just try a can of good ole Scotchguard @5/0. It’s worked for me on my outdoor gear, outdoor kitchen canvas cover. Of course all situations are different, and YMMV... 1 Quote
Super User GaryH Posted November 10, 2020 Super User Posted November 10, 2020 Kiwi camp dry has always performed the best for me. Back packs, ground blinds, tents ect. Scotchgaurd is also good but Kiwi seems imho to be the best. 1 Quote
Fishnski48 Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 I agree with Kiwi. I use it and even in the rain it is great. You might want to run some was on the zippers too. 1 Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted November 11, 2020 Super User Posted November 11, 2020 Be mindful that any waterproof product that you use to keep water out will make it that much harder for water that does get in to get out. Just asking for stuff to rust inside your fishing bag, IMO. Quote

KDW96 Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Ive used this on several bags. You can get it at walmart in the camping section. Apply liberaly let dry 24 hours. This does work. Quote
moguy1973 Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 This stuff is awesome. Water rolls right off fabrics treated with it. https://www.rustoleum.com/product-catalog/consumer-brands/neverwet/neverwet-fabric Quote

Water and mud just slide right off of it..and litterly everything else we threw at it. It does leave a white film on things and can make soft material brittle. Quote
scbassin Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 I use this on my boat cover & it works great. I retreat my cover every couple of years because it outside 365 days a year. On your bag it will last much longer. https://www.goldeagle.com/product/303-marine-recreation-fabric-guard/ I bought my cover in November of 2008 & I ordered a new one last month & it be here next month.
