bassbandit2 Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 Are these bearings any better then say the Tatula line? These have dark grey shields rather than silver. Are these better bearings or just different? Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted November 8, 2020 Super User Posted November 8, 2020 They’re just different. Not any better or worse. Flush them really good though. They need it. Quote
bassbandit2 Posted November 8, 2020 Author Posted November 8, 2020 These shields come off?? How? I can't find a retainer to pop off. How to flush them? Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted November 8, 2020 Super User Posted November 8, 2020 They are pressed in and yes they can be removed . Takes finesse but dont do it if you dont know how to. soak the bearings in acetone/lighter fluid. Spin test until the bearing comes to a smooth, slow stop. I usually have to clean daiwa bearings a few times to get them clean. Add one drop of oil and reinstall. Quote

Delaware Valley Tackle Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 No need to open bearings to clean them. Repeated soaking, agitation and solvent changes will do the trick. Quote

I was surprised by all the little floaties! Quote
